Areas unavailable for FedEx
by Samurai Vaper » Tue Jan 10, 2012 4:04 am
I recently placed 2 orders, one on 01/05 and one on 01/09. Both orders were over $100 so naturally I chose the free 2-day FedEx option. The next day I track my order, I have a USPS tracking code?
I then contact cs who in turn relayed the message to shipping dept who replied to me that due to my area (Guam) the shippng through FedEx was not available and had to sent it out USPS.
I put my home address for shipping due to FedEx does not ship to a P.O. Box. The problem is my apartment complex does not have a mailbox so most likely it might be returned. If I had known that FedEx was unavailable (don't know why when we do have FedEx here but that's a FedEx thing not Volcano), I would have chosen USPS to begin with and save myself all this hastle.
For one, if I could have been notified that FedEx is unavailable before they shipped it out, I would not have been so freaked out about it.
And secondly, Volcano should add info about areas that are not able to use FedEx as an option and be unable to select that option during check out.
Am I worried about my 2 packages: yes
Am I pissed?: you betcha
Is Volcano gonna lose a customer?: no
Although this incident has happened I still love the products and will continue to order, and I also do like the customer service this company has to offer simply because they are fast and they do not ignore.
So after all is said and done, I have no option but to wait and see what will happen to my 2 packages.
Thanks for listening to my rambling.

I have to say that I do agree that this sucks and would frustrate
me too. I am sorry that happened
One thing I can promise you is that we will work it out and help in any way we can to make sure you get your order.

So this is just an update to what happened so far.
Yesterday I call the 1-800 number to the USPS which was given to me by the shipping department. The nice USPS lady tells me that even though I do not have a mailbox in my apartment, they should deliver it since it is a package. I call the local USPS today and guess what? they tell me that they do not. I tell her the situation and then she says that it will be returned to the post office so come by around 3pm. So I drive down to the post office and they tell me the driver is not back yet so I would need to check back tomorrow.
So tomorrow morning I am going to have to drive back to the post office and pray that my package is there and has not been sent back yet. If and when I do receive the package by luck tomorrow I still have to worry about my second package!!
SO FAR SO BAD!!!

So I was finally able to retrieve my 1st package right before it got sent back. Mind you, this took a trip a day to the post office for three days which I was on my 3 day leave from work!! Now, I am going to have to go through the same thing over again for my second order which should be coming soon. Only this time, I am returning to work so I won't be able to go everyday to the post office, during their open hours, to hunt for my item which I should not even be doing!!
On a different note, I did receive my chrome TT and this thing is great. So great that I will probably order some more.
