thanks a bunch the video helped alot. how long should the 50ml of liquid last ? i go through 3-5 carts a day with my piece of junk blu (cant wait for the volcano to get here)

According to the pharmaceutical industry 20 drops = 1ml. Now bear in mind that juice bottles do dispense different size drops so we can basically figure on 18-25 drops/ml (this is by no means, my attempt at exact science! LOL!)

It usually takes 14-16 drops to fill a PTB modded cart, so doing the math, you could estimate about 66 carts can be filled with your 50ml of juice.

50ml x 20 drops / 15 drops per cart = 66.666666666 / 4 cart per day = 16.5 days worth

That number would be little bit smaller when using the stock filler in the carts as you cannot quite get as much juice in them.

Does that help? Like I said, that is by no means exact, and just a rough estimate.

I believe that the stock carts hold approx .50-.55ml compared to a moded cart that can hold upwards of .75ml.

And of course, if you're filling them yourself, you'll probably not want to let them get completely dry. If you refill them when they are half empty (or half full??) you will get much more consistent vapor and flavor. Depending on how and where you vape that might not be very realistic. But a good modded cart and some of Viv's caps http://www.volcanoecigs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=19 is a perfect combo to load your PCC with for a days worth of worry free vaping.

I just received my kit a few days ago and I am refilling my own carts with e-juice i bought at the same time as the kit. I haven't modified any carts yet and am refilling the stock carts. My question is that I seem to be going through ALOT of juice because my cart only last about 20 puffs before I have to refill it with 4-5 drops. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Should I try to mod these carts to make them last longer? The stock carts out of the box are only lasting 10-15 puffs off of them before they dry out as well. I only ask because I had a Blu and the carts I only went through 2-3 carts a day and I am refilling these carts 8-12 times a day.

Wow, you're burning more juice than I do and I'm a chain vaper.

Each juice will vape differently, I can get 15 draws off of one juice when I dip, but only 5 off another juice. I'm not really sure why you are burning through cartridges so quickly, they should definitely last longer than 20 draws, 10 for stock.

A few things to check:
Being that your kit is relatively new, your atomizers may not be broken in yet. It can take 2-4 days of vaping, depending on how much you vape, before that factory coating is burnt off.

You might be vaping to quickly for the stock filler to wick the juice down. A simple way to counteract this with the stock cartridge filling is to hold your Volcano by the mouth piece, with the LED facing up toward the ceiling. Then give it a sharp downward flick of your wrist, so the LED is facing down towards the floor. It's similar to the flicking motion you would use on an older thermometer.
A few flicks should force the juice down towards the atomizer, and let you continue vaping.

Make sure the filler is "full". Not with juice, but that it isn't squished down inside the inner cartridge. If it's squished down it will be out of reach of the atomizer's bridge, and will not wick juice to be vaporized.

Make sure that you are not flooding the atomizer, this is the exact opposite direction of the other two things to check, but if you're getting gurgling noises, not the same as the noise the atomizer makes when it activates and vaporizes the liquid, but gurgling noises. You may be putting to much juice into the atomizer at once, and are getting dangerously close to flooding it.
To much juice will result in low vapor production, and a lot of wasted juice that dries out and gunks up the atomizer.


Volcano's stock cartridges are very juicy, so you should definitely be getting more than 10-15 draws out of them.
I pretty much have a Volcano in my mouth all day long, and the stock cartridges last me much longer than 10-15 draws. Try the above steps, and check back in.

Another BIG thing to remember is that, this is NOT smoking.....

You need to approach vaping with an open mind. It is different. This is an alternate delivery system for your nicotine addiction. If you try to vape like you smoke, it won't be nearly as satisfying.

Also, keep a glass of water close by for the first week or so....dry mouth sometimes occurs. Happens for me once and a while. I think it is also helped by the more sweeter juices and flavors.

Take your time, read the forums here, and ask for help. Then, you can leave those analogs behind!

I had been researching e-cigs for about a month before I decided to go with a Volcano. I read and re-read this forum for what felt like an eternity and I felt quite knowledgeable about what to expect when I received my kit.

I ordered the Deluxe black kit with an extra atty and 4 flavors with a package of blanks as well. I'm very pleased with the product as a whole (I've had it for almost a week, and I am constantly vaping on it.) the only problem is that I didn't receive the extra atty I ordered. It's on the shipping manifest, but not in the package. I emailed Volcano and they have yet to respond so I figured I would post it on here to see if I could get the attention of the moderators.

Besides that small mistake I am LOVING the Volcano. From the moment I took my first draw I knew it was keeper.

I originally started researching e-cigs because I was looking for a portable and simpler alternative to smoking shisha. Now while vaping isn't exactly the same as smoking a hookah, I still enjoy it a lot. Plus I can vape in my dorm room and don't have to worry about bundling up to go out into the 20 degree weather. I love my Volcano and the 0 nic cartridges are an awesome alternative to smoking a tobacco product like shisha, which isn't very bad for you, but still has small amounts of nicotine and tar.

I plan on placing a few orders for juice in the next month or so. After reading all of your reviews I am definitely going to have to check out DIY and I want to try Johnson's Creek as well because I have heard that they have a spicy undertone similar to shisha. Also I am planning on ordering from Ms. T's Bakery and maybe some Vapor4Life.

Thanks so much for giving me the information necessary to make a smart decision before I decided to make a purchase. I owe you all big time and plan on being on the forum regularly to share new info and get to know you all better.

Also I'm just curious, but I told my friend about you guys and he ordered a kit.

His LED color is orange, and mine is red. They're distinctly different. Which is the normal color?
