Newbie cart question here...sorry, I've been searching and it's kinda late for me to read this whole thread. I threw away two carts last night (V-pack), but now I read that I shouldn't have, in case I want to get into filling my own. No biggie. I'm not ready for that yet. Just getting used to vaping (one week so far.)

I obviously want to get the most out of my pre-filled carts as possible. So please tell me if I understand this correctly. If I seem to be getting less of a "hit," I can do several things. One is to scrape the foil out with a toothpick or paperclip. Another is to blow INTO the cart to push the liquid toward the atty. And the other is to pull out the filler material and place it back upside-down. Is this right? I'm already collecting lots of almost-spent carts, and I'd rather take them to the end of the road and toss them. I don't want an entire collection of what would be the equivalent of a bunch of almost-fully-smoked cig butts.

Any tips appreciated. Got the charging thing down. Now just want to make my carts last ALAP.

Thanks! :)

Filling your own isn't as complicated as it seems...but I can understand not wanting to switch to that method yet...I, personally, toss spent carts into a ziploc bag in a cabinet and then clean/refill later.

If you are getting less of a hit, you can give the e-cig a "thermometer flick" holding the atomizer just below the cartridge and flicking it like you would shake down an old school thermometer. Evil Ernie has a video somewhere that demonstrates. You can make sure the foil is gone, and not stuck to the atty either. You can flip the filler if you like. You can also take a blunt tip syringe and pull the leftover liquid out of the cartridge (there's usually some left no matter how hard you try to get it all) and put it into another container or use it to top off carts that are low.

If you're not going to keep your empty carts, you may want to consider recycling them with your other plastics, just pull out the filler and toss it before you put them in the recycling bin.

Also forgot, you can use a paperclip/safety pin/toothpick to agitate the filler...fluff it back up to make sure it makes contact with the wick...sometimes it kind of collapses too far back into the inner cartridge.

Thanks so much! I do recycle, but I'm not sure what kind of plastic this is. Probably falls under colored plastic at my local landfill. If I decide to fill my own, do I just use the same foamy material that's in the pre-filled?

I'm so psyched about this whole thing. I'm about to order another V-Pack. I work in a restaurant for the summer and one drawn butter spill could ruin my V-pack. With two atomizers and four batteries, plus 2 V-packs (plus ALL the chargers), I should no longer need to stop for Pall Malls! Woo!

I'm gonna see what I can do with this cart I've been using all night and see if I can get a stronger vape. Yeah, there's a little work to this, but it doesn't involve driving to the store, cleaning ashtrays, scrounging for lighters, burning clothes, etc. SOOOOO worth it!

you can reuse whats in the carts but that stuff is not the best for wicking the juice to the bridge of the atty. Try looking up blue foam mod and its a really quick easy change out and alot better results

You do not want to blow into the cart to try and force the juice to the atty. Use the thermometer flick instead. Blowing into the mouthpiece of the cart would more likely just flood the atty.

Thank you. It helped a bit, but nothing's as good as a new cartridge. I will use these almost spent cartridges for boredom chain-vaping. :)
