Complete Magma Pack Mod For Manual Battery

Please Note That This Mod Will Void Your Warranty On The Pack!
I have one Magma kit and I have done this mod with no problems or I would not be posting it.
Their is no cutting of wires or messing with the battery or circuit board. You are just making a little room in the plastic for the button
As always, Mod at your own risk.
You can click on the pics for a larger view.
First step is to remove the foam insert. This will come out easily by using a pen, screwdriver ect.. and slowly and gently from one corner, pull it out. Their is not a lot of glue holding it and you can re-glue it back in place.

Next, remove the small Phillips screw.

Then, put the screwdriver into the whole that you would store your atty with the cart attached and GENTLY push until the bottom of the pack comes out a little bit.

Then, before you slide the bottom of the pack out, take a small screwdriver and GENTLY push the flashlight and charging buttons up. Don't pop them all the way out. they will lift up a little bit and pop into an elevated position.

Now, go ahead a slide the internals out. They will slide right out. Their will be no wires or anything connected to the shell.

Next, using a razor blade or cutting tool, cut a notch between the two battery holes.

Next, you need to cut out a square on the side of the compartment that holds the atty. This is where the button will hit if it is not cut out.

You Do Not need to cut a notch where the battery actually screws in because the button sits high enough up the battery to not come in contact with this area.

Next, slide the modded part back into the Magma pack, put the screw back in, Push the flashlight and charge buttons back into place, and insert the foam insert.
That's it. Ready to charge your new Magma manual's on the go.

I accomplished the same thing in about 3 minutes with a metal file...I pulled up the foam and I just filed through the hard plastic and continued to file till it was wide enough to accept the button.
It does the job great.

Thank you! I LOVE when people get down and dirty and void warranties! I have done that several times as far as fixing mobile phones is concerned. It saves the user a LOT of money over sending it in for repairs. I will definitely be dismantling my M-Pack when my Manual comes in the mail!

I am not nearly as creative or courageous as you all, scared to death to kill my M or V packs. But of course I have like a billion chargers for all my vaporizers.... at least 10.. probably lots more..
But, funny side story, 2 weeks ago, I had to drive my Mom to Massachusetts....
cell phone plugged in,
GPS plugged in,
Itouch plugged in,
passthrough plugged in,
extra Magma batt charging -thus plugged in.... picture forming? (BTW my car has lots of lighter plugs to access)....
so at one point Mom says to me.... I feel like I am in a spaceship or something with all these gadgets plugged in....cute? or just scary? or just a statement on my addiction to electronic gadgets???

Too funny...really don't be afraid if you buy manual batts to modify your M-pack...you can PM me and I'll walk you through it...Seriously...a good metal file and 3 minutes and that's all you will need...I was scared hearing about disassembling the whole case...lol...I was just thinking..all I have to do is cut through this plastic...what do I have...I did it...no biggy.
Love the comment from your Mom...sounds like something my Mom would say...she'd expect me to have a computer going, too

Thanks Jazzie, I may take you up on that sometime. I actually do own some manuals and have a few already on order from Volcano (got it in before store went into construction zone). Just haven't been brave enough to cut... my precious... Magma Pack..... too scary... my precious pack....

Be brave!...Be daring!...You are a a renaissance woman! truly...I was skyping with Ash...he gave me the long description about taking the bottom of the pack off and pulling stuff out...and blah, blah, blah...and I just grabbed a really good file that I have and started sawing (so to speak)...truly...3 minutes later I was through that little piece of plastic...within 2 more minutes the space was filed down enough to accept the "little" button...it works great...no problem...no hassle...
Don't buy into these "techy" guys that will have you disassembling the whole case or microchips (
