Drop USPS All Togather

Postby RebelVapor » Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:30 pm

I think we should vote to remove USPS as a courier/shipping option all togather. With their sub-par tracking, handling and timeliness (or lack thereof) they are just behind the times and untill we just flat out boycott them they will never learn and keep being a shoddy second rate package delivery service. I thought for sure my priority package (containing my new inferno) would be here today (expected it last saturday). But alas, i had to go down to the store and purchase a pack of Camels again because im still waiting for my order i placed on wednesday night. I wish the free 2-day fed-ex was already an option cause i spent well over $80 and would be enjoying my inferno already.....

We can not drop USPS altogether. We have many customers with PO boxes as well as all the people in the armed forces that have APO boxes. Fed Ex does not deliver to those.

USPS is inconsistent.. that's for sure. But like AB said, they can't drop it all together. I've just gotten to the point that I expect priority mail to take 1 full week and it usually doesn't disappoint me that way. I've also trained myself to not watch their stupid tracking once I am sure it's been processed through the first sort facility. At that point I make myself not watch them any more lol. Doesn't always work.. I am tempted at times.. like last week I had one 'processed through' a sort facility twice.. lol wtf does that mean? Carrier just forgot to drop it off at the next sort facility and had to bring it back?

Just don't put your faith in USPS and you'll be fine. Use FedEx if the shipment is going to be time sensitive. I'd kill for 2-3 day shipping via FedEx from China.. wouldn't we all? ;) So every time USPS gets me really mad, I just make a China order and it makes me feel much better, because even with the expensive shipping from China it takes 2-3 weeks lol.

Really? There is a company i have ordered from several times from China (granted, not for e-cig items but all the same) and they CONSISTENTLY got every order i made with them to my house in 4 days or less (for $11 bucks shipping cost from China to Oregon, TOTALLY worth it). hows that for shipping time/distance? It can be done people, and should.

I must preclude this by *knocking on wood* but I have been pretty lucky and every time I've used USPS it's been fine. The tracking is not the most reliable but my packages do arrive on time and in one piece...

your "in one piece" comment reminded me, Ive also had packages arrive "mangled" where the contents of said package were damaged (IE: half the box i received was literary crushed down to 1/4 its original size). i am told this is done by their sorting machines and is in fact quite common, luckily the company i ordered from were all to familiar with this and sent out a duplicate of my order at no cost to me.

I sure hope you ordered your Inferno attys and tanks via Fed Ex now...... you know USPS will lose them in the black hole now that you said that.

Of course many of your experiences with the USPS may have been different (as mine were at first), but i have just had way too many bad experiences/luck with them. Just my personal thoughts and experiences with them! Take em as advice or take em with a grain of salt! I know from now on im going with the FedEx option on all my orders placed online period.

no doubt! And if i remember correctly AB, i was reading in another thread about you personally having a routing issue, arent those fun? One time i had a package get "lost in the system" for two whole weeks before the tracking showed it in a location my package should have never been through on its way to its destination, halfway across the country!
