Vapor4Life: Grape, Coffee & Cola

Postby Viv Savage » Mon Dec 28, 2009 10:51 pm

That reminds me, Arclight, I have 3 more juices to review myself (including Coffee ;) )

Once again, these are from Vapor4Life, and as always with me, they have zero nicotine.

Grape: Love it! Delicious! Probably my 2nd favorite, just behind the Green Apple. But as my record shows, it would appear I'm definitely enjoying fruit flavors the most.

Coffee: This was actually a freebie they threw in with my first order, btw :) Well, I just thanked Arclight for his Coffee review because I was disappointed in this one. Actually, I preferred the Cappuccino to this, although in my last post, I said I thought the Cappuccino wasn't strong enough.

Cola: Another winner! Love this one, too! It tastes just like cola flavor... you know, like the cola flavor you find in a Slurpee.

That's all until my next order comes in, but I should probably take a page from Arclight's reviews and finally mention the other factors (I like your format, Dude!)...

Price: Very reasonable from what I've seen. My first order was $3.50 per 5ml bottle... the current price is $2.95/bottle. (a 5-pack sampler of 5ml bottles from eLiquid Planet is $19.95 before discount)

Selection: Well, I thought they had a lot, but less than half of what strictlyejuice has at about 48 flavors (at least in the 5ml bottles)

Shipping: I don't remember exactly but the turnaround was pretty quick. I'm sure it was less than a week.

The 48 flavors at vapor4life is reasonable tho, and I would actualy consider them to be on par (selection wise) with strictlyejuice. Here's why:

Of the "100" favors, only 83 are listed on their site (maybe the other 17 are out of stock??)

1 flavor is "unflavored"
23 flavors (give or take a few) are blended (eg Kona Coffee Raspberry, Kiwi-Strawberry, Cantaloupe Mint, etc.)
8 flavors are part of their Hookah Series, not quite sure what that means, but most of the flavors are duplicates of their regular flavors.

So that only really leaves you with around 51 "real" flavors. If you want to try blending flavors, you can easily do that yourself, so i'm not sure why you would want to pay them to do it for you.

Now I'm not ripping on strictlyejuice for anything other than their artificially inflated number of flavors. In fact, I will most likely be using them in the future. I like the idea of getting 3ml for only 1.95. Its a great (and VERY cheap) way to try a bunch of flavors and find your fave before you start getting big bottles. Plus if you find that one of the flavors tastes like wet socks, with such a small bottle, you aren't too invested into it.

I do think I'm going to have to give the Lava Flow flavor a try, just for the novelty of vaping that in a Volcano :D

Yeah, I like that idea, too! The smaller the better when trying for the first time! I already tossed a 5ml bottle of Camel flavor from Vapor4Life that coincidentally tasted like wet socks  . My priority - and difficulty - is finding small zero nicotine bottles. I checked about a half dozen flavors at Strictlyejuice, and none of them were offered with 0mg (so I can only assume that they don't carry zero nic at all). Eliquid Planet does offer 0mg liquid, but only in the 10ml bottles... their sampler packs (5ml bottles) only come in 11mg.

So, right now, Vapor4Life is the only place that caters to the oddball zero nicotine vaper like myself! :ugeek:

Finally, I have something to post regarding juices...

I received a bottle of SS Choice No7 (tobacco-low) from e-cigarettesnational.com...I like the tobacco flavor, as previously stated by different people, you won't find a "true" tobacco probably anywhere, but I like this flavor, it has a slightly sweet finish, kinda like a caramel...I think. Price $27.95/30ml...good customer service...I never got the original order so I contacted them and they immediately FedEx'd me another.

DIYshack...I seemed to wait forever for this, but what I've tried so far, I'm sure I will go back for more.

Watermelon- Well what can I say...I couldn't wait to try based on everything Thelvyn and others have said. Sometimes too much of a build up isn't good, I think I expected too much...IMHO...I don't care too much for it...too sweet for my taste...I definitely get WATERMELON...it leaves a lingering taste in my mouth that I'm not crazy about...I'll go back to it again, maybe as I vape longer, my tastesbuds will change. C

Chocolate/Caramel...mmm...yummy...I love this, I can't get enough of this...I want to eat this...When I go out tonight for New Year's Eve, I'm filling every cartridge I take with this. It's better than any chocolate-caramel bar I've ever eaten. A+

Cherry-I really, really like this one, too...I could stand it to be more intense, maybe next time I'll order double flavor, but this is a great fruit flavor. A

RY4 - I like this one, too...nice caramel taste to it. I'll be getting more of this, too. A

Dawn threw in 2 extra small bottles plus I still have 3 more bottles that I haven't tried, yet. Will report back on those later.

BTW...I love Volcano's Cherry, Coffee, Menthol & Chocolate carts...I've ordered more of these for quick & easy carts when there is no time to fill 'em up myself. I gotta say the Pineapple didn't do a thing for me...left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm expecting my first order from eliquidplanet to day...can't wait to try those, too.

Vendor: DIYFlavorshack - Dawn & George

Price: [B+] $29.99 for a 6 pack of flavors, all 6ml btls which is slightly larger in size than most flavor packs from other sites

Selection: [A] A huge 100+ selection and they will do custom mixes as well

Shipping: [A] 3 days shipping. Keep in mind, as these juices are hand mixed, so the production time is 5-10 days. Due to the holidays this order took just over 3 weeks. Ordered on 12.15 and received on 1.2

Juices: What I have tried....

Banana -So far this is my second favorite flavor from DIY. Remember banana laffy taffy? This is exactly what it tastes like! Great!
Brandy - I dont know what it is about the liquor flavors that I like, but this is another one (and mind you, I had less than 20 drinks in all of 2009). I think it is the little simulated alcohol finish. While not quite exactly like real brandy, this is really good if you like actual brandy.
Butter Rum - Same as the brandy....this one is sweet on the front end with similar finish as the brandy. This is a good steady vape that you will want to continue with
Vanilla - In another quest to find that true vanilla flavor, I can say that I am getting closer. This one has the best vanilla flavor that I have run across so far. It is a little stronger than the stock carts and that vanilla extract aroma is there on the exhale. Maybe this one in double flavor is the ticket
Cappuccino - Being a coffee lover, I was excited to try this one. Alas I was disappointed. Has a nice creamy start, but no noticeable coffee/espresso finish. It actually is a little flat. I will probably end up mixing this one with a mocha.
Black & Mild - Another good tobacco flavor from Dawn. Nice crisp flavor and not too overpowering. It is, like the name says, mild. Nice car ride vape! :)
Dunhill - We have a new leader in the tobacco race! So far this is my lady and I's favorite tobacco flavor! In my opinion, the closest thing to that taste of an analog cigarette. It is nice and smooth, with a rich finish upon exhale.
RY4 - I am a big RY4 fan, having tried them from 4 different vendors. Eliquidplanet was my favorite, and this one is just as good as that one. A good RY4 should be a little sweet tobacco flavor with a hint of caramel on the finish. This juice has all that! I would recommend to all!

**BONUS GIFT**

Dawn & George included 20ml of 50%VG/50%PG unflavored, 3ml Mocha (Med nic) flavoring, and 5ml Turtle (low nic) flavoring.

Thanks for the review arclight. I am vaping the cappuccino from eliquidplanet. Very rich, slightly sweet, full flavor with lots of vapor, with a sweet coffee finish. I would recommend it.

Vendor: strictlyejuice.com

Price: [A] I got (3) 3ml bottles, and (2) 10ml bottles of juice for $19 or so.

Selection: [A] Nice big selection of juices. 100+ flavors (they do count multiple strengths on varieties as separate juices so it is actually like 50-60), 3ml - 30ml bottles. PG & VG

Shipping: [B-] They ship from CA. Took about a week to get to me

Juices: Second order from them....

Cantelope Menthol - I have become a big fan of fruit & menthol combos since playing with Dawn's @ DIY's watermelon and some menthol that I had. This one has a light melon taste and a nice medium menthol finish. It is a quite refreshing juice! Recommended!
Kona Coffee Vanilla - After trying the regular Kona Coffee from these guys I was excited to get this one. Unfortunately it is a little light on the vanilla. The coffee flavor is there though. This is pretty good
Tropical Punch - This reminds me of Cool-Aid. Good flavor and a nice, not overpowering vape. Personally I would like it more if there was a bit more flavor.
Menthol - Your typical ecig menthol. Heavy on the minty side, but not too bad. I use menthol to mix with my tobacco blends so I never make full carts of this stuff.

Re: Ejuice supplier & flavor reviews

This is my first review of e-Juice so bear with me folks & I'll try and give you all that I can. My brain goes all over the place sometimes. So, I appreciate your patience.

I also ordered from strictlyejuice.com (as recommended by our friend arclight), initially because they are based in L.A. & I was hoping I could go by & pick some up as I believe some of you in Hawaii may do at the Volcano location. Well... it didn't work out yet. But I've e-mails from Jane over there assuring me that soon they will be relinquishing orders placed - same day to Angelenos some time after the new year from a Chattsworth location. So all's we need to do is check their site periodically... I thought that was kind of a b.s. response but we'll see. In any case, I digress. I think what I'll do is put things in list form, with a (brief?) explanation & see how that goes.

Price: $20.05 But what all I got seems pretty reasonable... For this amount I received four 10ml bottles of 18mg strength PG, a cap (for a 3ml bottle connected to a key chain ring) & a pair of tweezers (I some how lost the ones I had). Any order over $10.00 is shipped free of charge. So all in all, I'm pretty happy with this aspect. A+

Customer Service: Like I said, I thought that Jane's initial response was a bit full of the sh... well, you know... But allow me to relay that after much deliberation on where to order (& after bumming 4 carts off of my friend to help me get through), I decided to place my order late on the 26th, knowing full well that they'd be closed until the 28th. I didn't figure I'd get the order before the new year. But I shot an e-mail, once again, to Jane & asked her what she thought about the actual time frame of the order. This was on the 30th. Approximately an hour later I got a shipping confirmation and I actually received it the the next day. New Year's eve (after I'd gone through my last cart & expected to start the New Year without a vape, I got it). I understand proximity played a huge part in this. But just like the boys at Volcano really take care of you, I feel I got the much the same treatment here. B+ (because nobody does it like Volcano).

Flavor:

I got the following:

Mint: Seems a lot like the stock Menthol Cart from Volcano. I wasn't much of a Menthol smoker when I did smoke. but for some reason I'm really diggin' these types of vapes. it's about what you'd expect, though. But I find of all that I got this one provides the best throat hit, vapor & allows for an all day vape. B

Apple Hookah: It grew on me... While at first, I didn't care for it, now I taste a Jolly Rancher something or other and it's actually quite nice. Not too flavorful. But a nice mellow apple. B

Watermelon: This one I can only take in small doses. Once again it's a Jolly Rancher type of a flavor. But for me it's really too sweet. I have to really be in the mood. C+

Grape:[/list] Best for last. But I was still hoping for a bit more from this. I just like grape flavored stuff, though. You guys are going to hate me but once again it's a Jolly Rancher in a vape. While I didn't want the Watermelon Hookah to be that strong, this I wanted to be a bit stronger in flavor. It's almost like a tease, you know? I still give it a B+ because I just dig it.

:::EDIT::: for some reason, the Grape flavor is now a-poppin'. I can't quite understand why... Maybe I was steady vaping the Mint for so long that it shot my taste buds for a while. Get the Grape. I'm changing this to a solid A

Side notes:
What's the significance of them singling out Hookah? Probably just a marketing gimmick.

Two of the bottles came with child proof caps and two did not. I like the child proofing because I have a 19 month old & God forbid she gets a hold of this stuff.

When I ordered the cap/ key chain, I thought it'd come with a 3ml bottle... it didn't. Now, I should have paid more attention to the description than the picture. But I'm American. We see something & we're like Oooooooh that's cool! I want that!... God bless us all...

So that's it. Thanks for reading & I hope that this helped. Feel free to hit me up with any questions. Have a great vape.
