Hi everyone! Just a few question, if you would please.

Hi everyone, I'm new to E-cigs. I'd really like to get off tobacco (been smoking heavily for a few years, about a pack to a pack and a half a day). So I've ordered the most basic starter kit because it was cheap and I could afford it, and some extra cartos. I placed my order last night, and chose Fedex 2 day delivery. I live in California, anyone know a ballpark as to how long I might be waiting?

Also, can anyone describe the experience? I've been using the really cheap Clayton disposables lately. The gas station next to my work sells them. Overall they're okay. The draw is kind of hard, and the flavor is more like burnt sugar than anything. Is that a specific brand thing or something I should expect from any e-cig? Other than those two issue, I rather enjoy the cheap disposables. They smell better and taste better than cigs. I can use them inside when it's rainy. Plus I still get my nicotine fix and head rush, but my chest doesn't hurt. In fact, the nicotine from the vaps seem to feel a lot better to my body, than nicotine from tobacco.

Can anyone tell me how long one carto might last? I smoke about a pack to a pack and a half a day; I'm a heavy inhaler. And what is the better deal? To buy the prefilled cartos, or to buy the blanks with the liquid? Keep in mind that I also consider ease of use and convenience a big part of that.

Last, is there anything else I should know?

Gracias amegos!

Which kit did you order? Volcano or Magma? It's always cheapest to refill your own cartos. Later on down the road it sounds like you'd be better off with an Inferno or a Lavatube and some refillable cartos, probably in the LR or 2.0 ohm range. If you buy the Inferno's ala carte they aren't very expensive, the USB versions with a cone and a charging cable will cost you around $30ish and they'll use any of the cartos that Volcano sells. With a larger battery you'll get more vapor which is what it sounds like you're looking for.

Just some thoughts.

I just got the smallest regular Volcano starter. The one with one battery, charger, and two cartos and that's it. I ordered a pack of extra cartos with it. I think if I like the products, I'll get an extra battery and the pack charger next.

i have found that most disposable ecigs that like trash, you will be shocked at the flavor quality volcano juice has. as far as hard draw, that something i noticed with a few different disposables, one thing that will make your experience better is taking the lightest possible draw (strength wise) that you can while still being able to active the battery.

Last, is there anything else I should know? i refill my volcano cartos very hour or so, but i vape almost nonstop. as far as cost many feel that refilling blanks is cheaper, this is what i do as well. with the volcano brand cartos its really not that hard to refill either and you will never need to worry about how much juice is left.

Hey Forkeh, welcome aboard!
I was a heavy smoker like you (pack to a pack and a half) and I started with the bigger Inferno, which is the only one I could get at a local market. I later on debated between the Volcano(the one you ordered) and Magma, in which I chose the latter because I wanted something the size of a cigarette. It was good, but not enough for me so I sold it and got another Inferno. You might go down the same road as me and do so, but hey you won't know if you don't try.
I have never used carts so I can't say as to how they are, but if and when you do upgrade to the bigger ones, I recommend you get the Tube Tank for the easiest maintenance and fill and forget.
Just wanted to let you know my experience from one heavy ex-smoker to another.

Well that's sort of a bummer, I was hoping it might get here by tomorrow. I go through these disposables way too fast. They last a day maybe. I can't afford to keep buying them. *Sigh* I get I'm back to my Camels for another couple of days. Oh well, I'm sure one more pack won't kill me, not anymore than the hundreds, maybe thousands I've smoked before

But I am really excited to get my new e-cig. If the crappy disposables are anything to go by, I don't miss tobacco cigs in the slightest. It wasn't just the nicotine craving that did my in all those times I tried quitting, it wasn't the oral fixation either. Gum and lozenges didn't help. I think the way the hot smoke warms and irritates your throat is just as much part of the addiction, I really do. Because even when I'm getting my nicotine fix, that's what I miss the most, and what's always brought be back.

The cool thing is, the e-cigs feel close enough, not exactly the same, but close enough lol.

Forkeh,

Welcome! i was very recently a pack-a-day cig guy. after a bit of pushing, i ordered a fairly POOR brand of e-cigs that was harder to draw on and horrible batt life. but it was enough to convince me that vapor was the way to go for me. i ordered a better kit, like The VOLCANO Kit, that i was much happier with. after a couple of days of using it...and searching around reading reviews...i came here and got the inferno kit. i plan on keeping the smaller style for times when i don't want to get my Inferno out. (bars ect)...but i expect my Inferno to QUICKLY be my daily PV :)

I think I'll like the regular Volcano. The shape and size is familiar. The Inferno just seems too big for me.

i think you'll be very happy with that.

but i feel that in the future, you'll want to get a larger unit as well and go with refillable cartridges as well. alot more flavors and vapors :)

To be honest, it is about battery life. Yeah the Volcano and Magma kits have the PCC, but when your batts are dead it can be frustrating. The Inferno may be bigger, but when you quit analogs like me, I don't care who knows I am vaping, the bigger the battery the happier I am!

Welcome aboard and we are here to assist! It's tough hang in there!
