I had a few peeps with problems getting the juice to flow into the carto. One look and I noticed that they inserted the carto into the wrong end, meaning they did not put it into the bottom cap that has the recess for the flange. Thus the hole was getting covered up. Not sure if you noticed that recess or not.
I am not new, but it did take me a few times to get the hang. I punched additional holes, etc. but finally relaxed and went with it. Now I love them!
On the tanko, did you remove the o-ring off the batt? That always seemed to restrict airflow for me and with it gone it got way better.

Ok I had to search and search for this thread. I got my 4ml tube tank on Friday the 11th. I'm having the same problem. Since yesterday afternoon I've had to reprime my carto 8 times because it starts tasting burnt then I pull the drip tip off of it and the filler looks dry! I was searching in here because I thought maybe I was doing something wrong since this is my first ECig of any type. I even took it to the Volcano Cafe where I bought the thing yesterday thinking I burnt my Carto. She checked it nope... took a pull off it and said she thought it tasted fine we thought it was the mix of Volcano juice I had in there. I bought new juice while I was there and that juice started giving me the same burnt taste last night. That's when I pulled the tip off and checked the fiber filling and yes it looked dry. I did that every time today when I got the burnt taste and sure enough dry carto. My husband is an industrial electrician and knows about hydrolics and all sorts of systems so he watched me do a dry pull and said he saw air bubbles come out of the hole and said if that's happening then liquid shouldn't be leaking back in because the bubble replaced the liquid I pulled out. It seemed like the liquid level did rise but when I pulled off of it I had it tilted so that could've just been liquid just settling down from the side.
I got this tube tank because I wanted less hassle with this even though I think it's ugly as sin! I'm still really enjoying the vaping experience but I would really like less hassle. I'm considering going ahead and getting a tanko with the cone because I like the looks of the cone better.
Another possibility I thought of was maybe I wasn't pulling hard enough when I'm vaping so I'm not pulling enough liquid into the carto???
I'm so glad I'm not the only one with this issue because I don't feel like SUCH a blonde LOL.

If you are seeing bubbles, that us the liquid replacing the air inside the carto. What I found that helped me a lot is to take few dry drags every once and a while (drag without hitting the button on a manual battery). I do that for a few dry drags until the bubble are really small or just until the bubbles stop. I found that really helps in keeping enough liquid in the carto. Hope this helps some.

Thanks that's what I started doing yesterday. Once in a while I unscrew the tank and pop the tip off and suck on the end ...I don't have to suck as hard and get much faster results. I do know when that fiber is nice and wet the experience is MUCH more flavorful without burned taste AND doesn't go snap crackle and pop!

You do want some snap, crackle, pop though. That tells you that the carto is doing its job.

Glad the dry burns are helping you out, certainly worked for me.

Dry pulls or dry drags/draws. I know that's what you meant, but I figured I'd mention it ... dry burns are bad on cartos.

I stopped by the local store and picked up some new flavors but they're out of carto's. The guy at the store checked mine and it is slightly burned. The top of my tank came off and I dumped the entire FULL tank leaked out so he took a paper clip and spun the carto and tank on it and that got some of the gunk out. He filled my tank with a mix of pineapple, coconut and banana OMG yummy. I think I'm going just order some carto's and maybe even a back up tank online. I got a case today as well. I spent $70 on just liquid LOL. I'm seeing this as a very expensive habit so far LOL. But hey I have 6 flavors now and got a couple doubled up so I have a nice variety now!

it is expensive when you get started, still a whole lot cheaper than analogs in the long run. volcanos juice is known for not being cheap but it is GOOD. you can get e juice online for half the price of volcanos but it is gross and not even worth a quarter of what they charge. you can also buy all the separates (PG, VG, nic juice, flavouring) in bulk quantity for the absolute best savings and still get great juice but you have to mix it just right and its more time consuming. not to mention the dangers of straight nicotine liquid. i have tried this method and it is a lot cheaper but you just cant get that volcano flavour. and as for your mixings that sounds too good, im going to have to try that. dont have pineapple yet but ill get it. its fun to mix and match to see what you get. i havent had a bad combination yet.
