Fancy Proprietary Clearo Warning!

Postby monarch79 » Fri Apr 22, 2011 6:50 am

I have recently fallen for the clearo, that clever girl sitting alone in the cafeteria that nobody thinks twice about... She ended up being a lot of fine to hang out with, and looks super hot once she takes her hoody off!

And in my search for the perfect clearo setup, I was tempted by the Fluxomizer from GotVapes. It touted a 'thicker tube', 'fat pre-burned wicks', yada yada...

That 'thicker tube', makes it so your Inferno cone won't fit, and the material it's made out of (although thicker than a standard clearo) breaks super easily! Two of them came pre-cracked for me! The 'pre-burned' wicks, are just dry wicks with no primer. The 'fat wick' is 1 single thick wick instead of a cluster of thin wicks, which didn't reach the bottom. It didn't wick as well, since there is less surface area for the juice to adhere to, and 1 wick tended to compress under the inner seal, where a cluster would compress a little, but still allow the juice to flow through the gaps without leaking. When I took them apart to clean em, 3 of the wicks broke, leaving 2 for reusing... Out of my standard clearos, only one of them wasn't fit to reuse, and that's because I burnt the shit out of it learning how to adjust them...

Moral of story, a clearo is a clearo is a clearo. They are all basically the same, because they work. Anything else claiming to be a better tomato, is just not worth the money! Have a pleasant day.

A swing and a miss, oh well! I figured it was my turn to do some product testing... I wasn't impressed by their 'Vortex' either, see:

http://www.volcanoecigs.com/forum/yes-cheating-you-volcano-ce3-t5409.html

They're pretty nice guys, trying hard to get new stuff out to the masses which is admirable... But a little more testing would be sweet! Check out their 'Turbine', a great idea that just isn't working quite yet, as I've read in the ECF. It's gotta be hard to stay on the cutting edge in this business, without catching flak for releasing stuff before it's ready... I-Tankos... We still love you Volcano!

In vaping terms, that post is ancient history. Volcano and Got Vapes have upgraded their products since April.

No worries! Vape on!

LOLZ ! I got my pack of them (Fluxomizers) in the mail on Christmas eve day. Yes, they've been upgraded from all the videos I watched in the past 2 weeks about them. Been using them and it seems that I have to flip them upside down to prime the wick way more than I would like to. I know the Grimmgreen guy mentioned having to flip for a 3 count every so often and I was OK with that. That's what I experienced for the first 2 times I used one (and 3 other) they were great...but on the 3rd refill, I get burning taste every second draw and have to flip it for a 5 count. I think that maybe the lower cup is getting jammed down whenever I pick out the secondary seal to fill it. Anyone else have any tips about this problem? I tried to get the lower cup out but it feels like it is glued to the tube and I had to pull really hard and stretched the top of the plastic out.

The improvements are basically opening the grooves in the seal to allow for better wicking to the atomizer and the crack resistant tubes.

They couldn't do anything about gravity. You're going to have to flip once the liquid gets down past half way in the tube. I try and vape with the tube in the horizontal position as much as possible.

It's just the nature of CE2s...

Loose the cup seal. It's worthless IMO. I use the middle seal ridge down on the cup it holds with no leaking and tons of space for the wicks to do there job. I do this on all ce2's anymore. I will say though these fluxomizers might be my favorite incarnation so far. It's like a Rubbermaid type plastic and seems pretty darn indestructible.
Btw, if you're really wanting to you use your cone, just file off a millimeter or so, and it's good to go.
Clean them out if you're getting a burnt taste too. There's probably some nasty gunk burned on that coil. It happens.

Just curious, but I was trying to figure out the flipping to wick comment ... I don't really ever seem to have to do this with our mega clearos. Is there something different in the wicking design?
