Fedex 2 day service question
by jscott1 » Thu Dec 22, 2011 6:28 pm
I ordered an LT and it was supposed to be delivered today. I stalked the site all day, and I was home all day but it never made it to my door. It is now back at fedex. (the site said on the truck for delivery and when I last checked, it was back at fedex)
Question: do customers need to sign for fedex 2 day packages? I don't think I have had to in the past, but I honestly can't remember.

I used the fed ex 2 day a few times. You don't need to sign for it. My guess (and it is only a guess) Is that it was on the truck for delivery but with Christmas just two days away there was to many other items on the truck and the driver just ran out of time so your item had to go back.
If they had made it to your house and wanted you to sign for anything they would have left a note taped to your door.
Hope it comes for you tomorrow. I don't think fed ex ships on Saturday.
Good luck!

normally you don't have to but it is also up to the driver to determine if the area is safe for the package to be left. If there are a lot of people around or someone that looks suspicious hanging around they will not leave the package. They also tend to don'y like to leave packages around the holidays as people are always looking to steal things. The driver is responsible for the package.
They tend to stay out on the route till the truck is empty around the holidays. There may have been a mechanical issue with the truck or the drive got sick or injured that caused them to go back to the office.
Bit no there is no signature needed to to leave the package.

Thanks guys! No note was left and I have had packages left at my house before. I will wait patiently tomorrow. It's tough, but I guess I will have to!!
BTW: It was estimated to be delivered by 7 pm, and it was back at the facility at 6:55. Maybe they were just too busy to get it delivered today.

I am still getting used to it, but so far so good! I don't have anything to add that hasn't been said, just a cool device and I am excited to check out all the voltages!
