Fedex is sure a pain

My package estimated delivery time is tomorrow by 7:00 PM. Its currently at my local Fedex "sortment" facility. I called fedex and I am not allowed to pick up, or request an earlier delivery since the estimated date is tomorrow. I dont see what the big deal would be? its costing them nothing if not saving them money by having me pick up my package at their location. boy oh boy i hate fedex.

It likely means your local sort facility is not staffed/set up for access by the public. I've tried this in the past as well and been denied pickup locally. It may also mean your package is already sorted and loaded on a truck for delivery and they don't want to unload that truck to find it. Either way, they are pretty strict about it. UPS is the same way in my area.

I'm pretty certain sort facilities are not designed for a customer to pick things up. From what my friends have said it's like a warehouse. That's why UPS has UPS stores in certain areas that you can have your items delivered to.
