Getting old juice out of attys and cartos

Postby Kyro_98 » Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:04 pm

I have some B & H eliquid and some Djarum black eliquid. They are pretty hard to get out of an atty or carto. Ive tried warm (not boiling) water and a little rubbing alchohol, but there are still some lingering tastes. Any tips on getting out those really tough juices? Thanks guys!

By the way what is B & H supposed to taste like? I know its a tabacco flavor but it tastes like chinese food or something to me kinda... :wtf:

Don't use rubbing alcohol. It hurts the wick, or the bridge. I'm not sure which, but it's not good. If you're not using this method already try this:

Microwave a bowl of water for 5 minutes (distilled is best). Put the atomizer in for about 10 to 15 minutes. Don't just drop it in though, use a fork or slotted spoon to lower it in. After 10 to 15 minutes have elapsed, remove from the water and blow out as much excess water as you can. Let it dry overnight on a paper towel. Flood prime it with 8 to 10 drops of a new flavor you want to vape. Let it sit upright, threaded side down, on a paper towel for about 20 minutes to allow the excess juice to come out. Wipe the threads and vape.

If that doesn't work, do everything up to letting it dry again. And again and again if necessary. Until the water is completely clear while your atty is soaking.

Before your atty's bath, you can also drip some Bacardi 151 into it. It's thinner than water so I've noticed it helps loosen up stuck on flavors. And it's alcohol soooo yeah, no explanation needed there.

If all of this STILL doesn't work, after flood priming let the atty sit overnight. Then clean it again.

I've never had a flavor not come out after all of that cleaning.

B&H is Benson and Hedges (Gold usually) its a British brand of smokes. Its a light clean tobacco flavor.

Tried the B&H from MFS, tasted like a Bit O Honey candy bar to me, the B&H from SEJ is way better

:!: When microwaving distilled water, be sure to put a plastic untensil in it to prevent explosions. :!: For stubborn odors, I put a splash of distilled white vinegar in the microwaved water.

I don't think troublesome flavors ever really leave a carto - I had to toss more than one because of some stubborn flavors - but with attys - multiple cleanings (at near boiling) and flood priming will usually take care of it - I even got cinnamon out of one - but it did take about 4 cleanings ;)
