I no longer feel that I am vaping too much during the day. :!:

I am in awe of you and totally glad that I am only away from home for about 3 hours at a time. I only bring my one little magna with me. Then again, there is not alot of time for vaping in respiratory therapy. But I do manage to vape a hit or two inbetween the various treatments.

On a totally serious note, my pulmonary specialist actually allows me to vape at therapy and uses me to show all his clients that quiting cigs can be done. His opinion is that the nicotine is not healthy, but vaping eliminates 98% of the health risks associated with smoking cigarettes. Needless to say I am never going to switch doctors.

That's awesome! Now we just need to get the FDA to run some actual research and allow e-cigs to be tested as possible smoking cessation options....

I find it amazing that people have told me that I did not quit smoking because I am vaping nicotine. Yet those same people did not have a problem when I tried the nicotine gum, nicotine lozenger, or the nicotine patch.

So, my actual hypothesis is that PV's are more effective because in addition to the functional similarity (serving the same purpose as a cigarette in terms of nicotine delivery), they are also topographically similar (you engage in the same physical actions, it "looks the same" as smoking) which I think allows a smoker to more easily transition and associate the new habit with all the same things they associate smoking with more adeptly. In order words, it's easier to build the same relational frames around vaping than it is for something that seems "different" from smoking, like a patch or gum...now to get that published...ha ha...and to get the research done to demonstrate that...

Tell them to quit caffeine and you'll respect their opinion a bit more lol. Caffeine isn't quite as addictive as nicotine but it is addictive, and has withdrawal symptoms almost as bad as nicotine. Caffeine is also a poison in high concentrations just like nicotine. Nicotine is just more concentrated/stronger.

Disclaimer: My opinions are those of myself and no other. E-Cigarettes are not a "Quit Smoking" product. They are a smoking alternative. Keep all E-Liquids out of the reach of children.

Actually, in College, many years ago, I had a class on Drugs and their effects and one of the drugs discussed was Caffine. According to my textbook from that class, Caffeine addiction is so strong and so wide spread that it is used as a baseline for evaluationg chromosomal damage.

So yeah....tell your friends who aren't functional without those first 6 cups of java about that one :)
