HELP 4 a Good Volcano vape with a new Battery
by Ronbo » Tue Feb 22, 2011 4:11 am
The problem I had when I first got my new Volcano starter kit was I was killing myself trying to get a descent vape out of it.The LED would not light up at the end of the battery unless I used my fingers to block the brass vent holes between the battery and the atty(atomizer).I was using 4 fingers to block the vents and dragging REAL hard to get anything out of it.As was suggested to break the batteries in I tried blowing in the LED end of the batteries and and pulling or dragging on the other end.It helped a little bit but they said it just needed time to break in.So this is what I came up with,a Rubber O-Ring.This is the 1st pic below.
This is just your ordinary Rubber O-ring you can buy at your local hardware store and works perfect. You slide it on over the 4 vent holes between your atty and your battery(2cnd pic).Adjust it back and forth to block the vents partially so you can light up the LED steadily on the end of your battery and still drag on it for a great vape. This fixed the problem of using both hands to block the vents during the battery break-in period. It makes it a bit easier and doesn't look so geeky out in public.

Just be careful and check to make sure the atty doesn't get too hot. The air holes serve to regulate the atty temperature and blocking all the holes all the time may cause it to overheat and fail.

Like banddude said you don't want to cover all the holes. Might be a good idea to cut a small notch on the inside of the o-ring to allow air in one hole and keep it lined up with one of the holes. you don't want to over heat the atty and/or battery, it could potentially kill one or the other.

If you cut the tiny Rubber O-ring they usually will split and it's also very difficult. You can just slide one side of the Rubber O-ring down a little bit and your atty gets plenty of air and ventilation. If you cover it completely it's very difficult to get a good vape.

ive been covering the holes up with my finger and taking a hit then letting them off after the lights already on. once it gets started it keeps going after you let off the holes.

Hahaha I do this too. But I feel like I'm playing a miniature clarinet, trying to find the right number of holes to open up to keep the draw steady.

One thing I did want to add was my batteries were found to be defective and would not break in even after 10 days. They were found to have too tight of sensors and would only work with 99% of the vents blocked. This is a good way to get a good vape while they break in,just make sure that the atty doesn't get too hot.
