Ok a quick hit on an observation of a method tried.
Split out a group of new tankomizers to test for what could work.
Did two alternative methods modifying the approved cleaning cycle and just looking at the first unit I pulled out to see what happened.
Now what I stuck into this group were tankomizers that were incredibly clogged and after a standard cleaning method would last for 15 minutes or less.
The first one out of this group I have tried after it dried is now clear of clogs and giving full and constant vapor. The method that was used for that test group was just a soak in pure off the shelf isopropal alcohol you can buy at any drug store. That was followed up by the standard approved boil and soak method of cleaning. The units that were chosen for this were after just normal cleaning so clogged you almost could not draw through them to get a vapor puff.
Only one tankomizer is what I am reporting on the first of the batch to be sampled. There is a marked improvement in how it draws (little back pressure and smoother draw) and vapor production is much improved. These were a group of tankomizers I thought I would have to get ready to can since they had approached near unserviceable levels. Caution here that this is only the leading sample out of a group but think the departure is significant enough to rate a status report. More to follow if a trend is observed.

Ok more data on this
The group of near useless tankomizers that never responded to 'approved cleaning methods' seem to be much improved now.
They were averaging 15 to 20 minutes of use before they were sent back for cleaning and now they are going for several hours or longer.
Will be exploring other durations of alcohol bath prior to a normal cleaning to see if they even get more restored and working better.

I'm going to revise my previous statement. I just cleaned 5 m-tankos by soaking in warm water for about 2 hours. Dumped that water, and did the same thing. Added a little bit of isopropyl and ran the ultrasonic for about 60 seconds. The point here is that the ultrasonic actually does help kick extra gunk out of the tankos. I'm letting them sit in their own crap until tomorrow and then I'll rinse them.
The ultrasonic is not a waste of time. Just a lack of convenience.

Yes the ultrasonic helps and so does a light application of alcohol. Now I am just working on the optimum mix to get the best performance.
Think about it would you try to do your dishes after eating some greasy food with just hot water? You are putting something similar on your tankomizers with the contents of what you vape.

Ok I just had a week that can only be described as a rash of tankomizer failures. I lost 9 in 7 days and they were all 100% only cleaned by the approved method.
I can get equivalent batteries from other sources but tankomizers ,at least as far as I can tell are single sourced, and with the performance I have seen it no secret why they categorically refuse to warranty them.
Not saying at all they are wrong in bringing us this concept just saying hey dudes can you try to get it right.

Ok status update which won't be pretty
As of today between ones I have purchased here and for those who track my orders I will give you a hint I don't order under one name.
But as of today I have lost 27 tankomizers.
Now to place that in perspective
27 X 11.99 = 323.73 and that does not take into account contribution to taxes on the various shipments or all the shipping costs (0 for me since I always keep my orders above 100 bucks) but that is not a cheap throw away.
I will order some more tankomizers soon but I only have a few left and am worried that I will have to drop back to analogs till that shipment arrives.
My guess at what is happening from a lot of alternate sources outside this website. Simply the growing demand for ecigs is outstripping the ability of the factories to produce and they are throwing out just something to feed the demand. Quality has tanked and all that is being done is feed it Seymour we will bring up quality later. Vendors are saying 'I need stock to turn over' and in all that warts are showing. I really hope I am totally off base on that but one thing for sure I am not getting anywhere near 4 nines if you are familiar with that concept.

Today I had another failure just something different.
I was vaping along on a 650 passthrough and all of a sudden it was doing the white flashing button thing and I looked around for indications.
I noticed that even though the cable was connected I had no bottom led light showing power was being applied.
I swapped the battery out and put the old one into an inferno specific charger and plugged it into a usb port and it started charging indicating it had been depleted due to no power coming in via the passthrough cable.
Sure enough I checked and the Inferno compatible AC plug unit was showing it was powered up but neither the old battery or the replacement showed indication they were receiving power via the cable. So then I swapped out the cable (USB to miniUSB) for a spare in stock and boom power applied.
Now I am sorry but this is just a cable and a couple connectors. This IS NOT rocket science. This is the second cable I have had fail.
This just a power cable as far as our purposes go and not even all the strands are required (an probably are not there) now imagine how you would be pulling your hair out if you network cables just died or even your printer cable since both of them would prove elusive to trouble shoot unless you keep spares.
A simple cable and connectors should be a bullet proof no fail works every time thing. If the load on the system can't even get that right due to demand no wonder we are seeing so many other issues since they are so far behind the curve trying to catch up to demand.

I DO NOT FAULT VOLCANO FOR THIS
There are many others who clone ecigs from the same factory and brand them for their own sales.
I simply say the combined demand growth is revealing all sorts of warts and issues as everything is going exponential as ecigs become known.
Solder joints are just likely being forgotten ,chip qualification for control chips is probably so yesterday and the only thing driving it all right now is meet the quota.

On consideration I may not have to drop back to analogs if the last few tankomizers I have also fail.
I have as a backup stock a few boxes of cartomizers I can plug into them to carry me over unless something goes way wrong there.
As a note I had a collection of almost 80 or more atomizers from a combo of a 'prior' brand that was Volcano plug compatible and a stock that were Magma atomizers. All those were sacrificed into real hard and fierce alternative cleaning method testing.
I did not put any of the tankomizers through that torture test method chase.
I had a stock of the male and female compatible prefilled carts to plug on them if they had survived the various methods used but simply I was going heavy hard and long to ensure there simply were methods that were not indicated as good or quality and thought they were expendable for that research. After all what other purpose was I going to use them for?
As far as tankomizers went they were delegated to the side while I was tied up experimenting with the various options with the old atomizers of both classes. So most of my stock of tankomizers got the factory approved method of cleaning.
Funny the only tankomizers I still have operational are ALL among the single test group cleaned via the jewelery cleaner method. Not a single one of the others have survived.
