Increasing Throat Hit

Postby monarch79 » Thu Apr 29, 2010 6:16 am

I heard that adding a little alcohol to your juice cocktail would increase throat hit, like a little everclear or rubbing alcohol... I've found that fruity juice like watermelon or blueberry has less of a throat hit than something like mint or vanilla, so I would like to compensate for that by cranking it up a notch... Your thoughts? Is it safe to smoke rubbing alcohol?

I wouldn't use rubbing alcohol. Everclear or 151 are really the most used of the bunch to add TH

OK, so here is a follow up question for the divine beings of the board. I'm switching to 0 nic and I miss the throat hit immensely. Unfortunately, with Illinois getting ready to ban the sale and distribution of PVs, I'd like to know that I can make my own juices strictly with stuff that I can pick up at Farm and Fleet and Wal-Mart. I had heard about PGA being a way to get that back. Is there anything else that works for those of us who are "allergic" to alcohol? I've been sober for four years now, and just smelling alcohol is enough to fill me with an odd mixture of revulsion and longing. Tasting it would be even worse, I'm sure. I'm sure that as time goes on I'll grow to enjoy vaping without the TH, but I was just curious if anyone had any ideas.

There is a video on the ECF forums (e-cigarette-forum.com) that shows a guy using pepper extract for throat hit. Never tried it myself, but he claims it worked and he didn't turn red and keel over, at least in the video. I think it was in the DIY juice forum.

I use 151 rum, and don't taste it at all, just a kick in the throat, but don't blame you for wanting to avoid it either.

If you are mixing your own juices adding more flavoring can increase the TH. But that also depends on what flavors you are using.

How much Everclear or other spirits are you using in your mix? How many drops spirits to how many drops juice?

Doc according to the post in the off topic section on the IL ban, they are not doing anything to limit purchase of items over the internet.
