Inferno Blank Tanks Insert With Hole

I seen on here a little while back about removing the two inserts in the end of the mouth piece of the Inferno Blank Tanks ( found here http://www.volcanoecigs.com/inferno-blank-tanks.html ) Just not too sure where I seen it. The idea that was said was it opens up the air flow and lets you have a less restricted draw. It works really well. I did it to a few of mine in fact. Problem is this though, I have found out that they are there for stability reasons. After about three days my mouth piece would actually crack right down to almost the part that holds the juice. I don't chew or bite down on mine either, most the time it happened just by trying to pull it out to refill. So just to let you know it does open the air flow and juice does not leak at all by doing this but it will make them really easy to break. One way to avoid this I have found was to drill the two holes larger which opens the air flow more but still leaves that stability. Maybe they are fine the way they are for you or maybe you like a less restricted flow of air. Either way I hope this helps someone out there.

I made a post about that awhile ago. That is good to know. I have not had any problems with my tank since doing this, but I will definitely keep an eye on it!

Update on my issue that I have had on these: The ones that I did this mod to were the clear tanks that seemed to crack. I have tried this with the red ones now and I am not sure why but they do not seem to do it to me. The red tanks seem to be stiffer then the clear tanks on the mouth piece end when the insert has been removed. I have only tried the clear and red ones now so I am not too sure about the other colors. I will be getting in some black ones later on today (I hope
) and I will try this mod to this color and let you know if I had any problems with them cracking. Just remember to those that read this I am not saying there is any thing wrong with the clear tanks, what was wrong and why they cracked for me was because I altered/modded them. Also, just because they cracked with me does not mean they will for you. I am just stating the issue that I had after doing my mod.

After I posted yestarday, I went to clean the one and only tank that I modded, and it dawned on me why I might not be having the same issue as you. Mine are clear too BUT I took out the inner part of the tank but replaced the top. It still works well, but I wonder if the extra stability is why I didn't have the same issue. I only did this because I use the inferno case and they stick out slightly - I figure it is harder for little rogue pieces of fluff to get inside the small hole as opposed to the wider opening!
Did you take out both pieces? This might be why....hmmmmmmmm Just a thought!
Update us on the other colors as well, interesting that they might be a tad thicker. I have not tried the black tanks I have because the juice and tanko I use them on is fine. I don't have any other colors as of yet.

Yes, I removed both inserts. I did start removing the very inner one and replacing the outer on the end after I drilled the hole a little bigger. I noticed that helps a lot. The red ones I can remove both and not have an issue. You are very correct though on stuff getting in there. I normally rinse out the airway every time I refill it if I get the chance to because I get stuff down in there all the time. Never sucked back in any thing though so that is good.

I might have to drill the hole out bigger too, just to see! They are cheap enough that if one cracks or I kill it by doing surgery on it, it won't be a huge thing. Hell, I think I have 15 tanks and 10 are still unused!
AB suggested using a sharpie cap (cleaned of course) to put over the top of the tanks to keep them capped. I haven't tried this yet either, but it seems like a good alternative to fuzzies! sucking in surprise dust bunnies ruins a nice vape!

LMAO, Oh my Jen you are too funny. That is a really good idea though, AB is really good at thinking of those little things. I will have to try that. I wonder if the plastic that they use is slightly different from the clears because of the color added to it?

Thanks, I try to be funny but usually it ends up being at my expense (not really on purpose - I am a say before you think type!
)
I swear AB uses sharpies for everything - sort of like duct tape, but with sharpies! As for the coloring, I will have to ask my hubby, he works with plastics - sort of, he doesn't actually manufacture them but he might know if that has anything to do with the difference. "Plastics" - isn't that a The Graduate reference? Film class.....
The pic BTW was done with one of my homemade fisheye lenses - you got it, a peephole for a door works very well as a makeshift lens!
