V-Kit Deluxe to APO

Postby mulkeyOWNS » Wed Mar 02, 2011 8:48 am

When I made my first original order, I chose FedEx 2-day for the shipping method. (Cost me $7.99). I then realized that FedEx doesn't ship to APO addresses, and got nervous. My shipping was then tasked to USPS, which is what I hoped would happen. As of now, my order still says it's using FedEx 2-day, but USPS is delivering the package. I was wondering what shipping "speed" if you will, it was tasked to USPS for.
Kinda has me confused. :?

USPS only really has one speed. Slow.....but yeah, if Fed Ex handed it over to USPS they will now handle it as a standard ground mail package. Hopefully they handed it off to them at least somewhere close to you.

I have this happen all the time to me when I order computer parts and stuff. The small items that get shipped UPS since they seem to be lazy and don't want to drive out to my place unless the item is in a box bigger that a shoe box. My 2 day UPS shipment becomes 5 days. Because when they hand it off USPS has to make a new shipping slip for it and process it through their facilities (and drag their feet while doing it).

Right, I mean it was still processed and shipped out pretty fast (like I said in another thread, less than a couple hours), but I was just curious as to what it might have been changed to.

***EDIT***

I would also like to add that I spent $7.99 for shipping through FedEx, and the fact that it got tasked off to USPS means it wasn't. The prices for USPS shipping are $1.22 for First Class, and $4.95 for a Priority Flat Rate envelope. Essentially I bought 2 and a half envelopes. XD

 I'm not asking for a refund or anything, just interested in the fact that FedEx can task USPS with some of its customers, and not give a refund to the customers for the difference in shipping prices.

Oh okay I got ya now, I didn't look up your order, so I just did and now I understand. I thought you meant it shipped out as Fed EX and then they handed it over. But we changed it before it left to USPS. Ummm I am not sure on the over seas time line. But I know some one just ordered a few weeks ago, USPS and had it sent to an APO in Germany, I believe she said it was 7 or 10 days from date of shipping. So I would say you should see it around the 5th, which is Saturday.

:::::::::EDIT:::::::::::::

If you open a ticket with CS I am pretty sure we can credit you the difference, I am not 100% on that though. A CS rep would have to answer that one for sure. But it looks like we caught it and changed it before it shipped out.

Oh, right. Well that's pretty nifty that you guys can change the shipping method if someone chooses the wrong one. Hah. I'm pretty confident that it will get here soon - if you guys ship anything at all like amazon does - then you will definately get a lot more orders from over here. Haha. Possibly even some after I get home in September, if I haven't quit completely by then. Thanks!

It's definitely not a big deal like that. The difference would only be like 3 or 4 dollars, if that. Thanks for your concern though.

So - my shipping status went from:

Just figured I'd keep you guys up to date - eventually it will get here...Haha.

I'm at an APO in Germany, and with Express it took a week. So for you probably about a week and a half.

I don't know if you are down range, but if you are I would say two to three weeks if you are.

Been near two weeks now. Tracking information hasn't updated since the 3rd of March. 6 days ago. Wondering if I'm ever going to get it  . I guess all I can do is sit and hope, but I am highly anticipating the arrival of my 3 kits, one Volcano Deluxe kit, One Magma kit, and finally one Inferno kit with MULTIPLE accessories. I'd say I've spent about 600$ in the past month on Volcano, and the only thing I've seen evidence of showing up or anything is my Magma kit - which I got mailed to my house in the states. My Magma kit definately showed evidence of the "2 day shipping" through fed-ex, but I ordered the Inferno kit 3 days ago and it still hasn't shipped. >.< I just want to quit analogs and start smoking inside :(

There have been some issues with the Fed Ex system not updating but I'd just drop a ticket in with customer service to follow up if you haven't received a shipping notice from Volcano...
