Lava Atty... Help me use it please
by kylereu » Wed May 04, 2011 6:27 am
Ok so I got the Lava atty in and I am having a me problem. I just cant get it to work well. I know its me because the ciscos did the same thing. I try to drip on the bridge but my juice acts like its too thick and wont go down. How do you properly use this little guy? BTW- been using it with the Volcano juice, I am out of all others right now.

Yo Kyle...
With those Lava atties.. I tend to drip more than with a LR Magma. I borderline flood them. Where I would use 4 drops on a bone dry Magma, I use 5-6 on a dry Lava. For a brand new one... I usually drip 3 drops through the hole on the threaded end and let it sit for a few seconds... then 2-3 through the drip tip. They ARE warmer and tend to chew through juice a lot quicker so, I find myself drippin 2 drops every 4-5 drags.
I'm hardly a pro... but that's what works for me.

Thank you Keiff. Do you drip onto the bridge or do you drip into the drip tip when you use your Lava?

Well... I drip through the tip. Since the delrin tips sheath the atty, it's kinda a pain in the arse to do it any other way. What I do see though is, once you've got the atty wet, it delivers the vapor fine between cleanings. That's kinda why I prime them through the bottom first... getting the coil nice n wet.

You can always turn it kind of sideways and drip under the bridge and onto the coil...if that makes sense...

Yes it does! That is what I have been doing but just thought their has to be a little nicer way. With my magma LR I can drop the drops right down in there and quickly might I add. Right now the way I have been using the Lava it takes some time.

the Lava's take some time to break in and get the wick and bridge to start wicking and absorbing juice nice and fast.

I dont have a inferno and lava atty but they seem similar in design looks to a volcano atty. I know they are lower res and not sure if you can still dip them safely or if that would be a issue. But thats how i broke in my volcano attys fairly quickly. I kept a contact lens case handy with some juice in it and dipped for about week until they were good. Now I just kinda paint the juice on the bridge with them, now it sucks up the juice like a hoover!

Ok so I am not crazy... well erm... Ok so it is wicking it up slow it just needs to break in. Thank you AB. So it is not me or the atty it just has a break in. Well I shall vape away on it then. I was just confused it was like the drops just sat on the wick and would slooowly seep in but that makes more sense now. I should have known that too but it just never crossed my mind.
Thanks to all that have posted on here. If anyone else has any tips for using the lava and you want to add, please do!

Dripping through the DT has the same effect as dripping directly on the bridge, so I'd suggest trying "dipping", where you take a bottle cap, put a few drops of juice in it, and soak the bridge in that for a few seconds, after which you can just hit it as you normally would.
