magma/510 cart mod I havent seen--holy cow!

Taken from highping on the e-cig forums:

Here's what I do that works like a charm (for me). Pull out the cart filler and cut about 3/4 of the length off of it. You should be left with a piece that is about a half inch long. Now fill your cart most of the way up with juice (leave it about a quarter inch from the top). Then stick the little piece of filler that you cut right on top and gently push it in until it's flush with the rim of the cart.

I've been using this for an hour and its amazing. NO LEAKS. NOTHING. using STOCK POLYFILL!

This may not seem like a big deal, but this works even better than all manners of blue foam cuts I've tried. HUGE vapor all the way to the end...and I mean BONE DRY. If Volcano put some sort of plastic material, like a little bar across the inner cart about 1/8 of an inch down (maybe less...right where the inner cart gets narrower) then just plugged the top with enough polyfill to seal everything in, stock carts would be absolutely off the hook.

This is what I think I'll call the AZFM (Almost Zero Filler Mod)

I've read some mods where folks were using cut drinking straws to provide a type of platform for the filler plug to rest on, and not get pushed to the back of the cart. Might wanna try that. I've got a Magma batt that does that on off crap and I never use it anymore. I might try this mod with this battery so if it suddenly starts bleeding out it'll only ruin a known crap batt.
Thanks for the heads up once again Stark! You da man!!!

HOLY SHMOKES!!! This mod ROCKS!!
I used a piece of drinking straw cut as long as the thinner portion of the Magma inner cart. Then cut it lengthwise so it could roll up on itself and fit in the inner cart body. Inserted the straw, filled it with Kona Coffee. Cut an old piece of stock filler in half, balled it up and put it in the wide part of the inner cart. Praise the MAGMA GODS!!!
Took a couple hits off a half dead auto batt and it 'bout knocked me over! Well, I wanna be knocked over dammit! So I put it on a 5v PT and I got my wish. Good flavor and TH from 8mg Kona. This is awesome!
Stark, put yourself down for many beers, you earned it bro!!!!
I'm gonna test this mod for a week or so and see what (if any) issues arise.

I'll try the straw method when I get home. What I would like to find is some kind of thin plastic piece shaped like a "+" if looking at it from the top, and stick that in there. I have VAPED COMPLETELY DRY 3 or 4 carts without anything but the plug. Both polyfill and blue foam, they both work. I get EVERY last drop out of these things. You can tell when vapor and throat hit drop its almost gone.

And yeah, I took a rip on my volcano passthrough and it basically kicked my d!ck in!!!

I HOPE JOE IS READING THIS. You already have the best 510 cart out there because it holds more, wanna put it over the top? Look no further. Mold them with some sort of "stop" inside the inner cart and no one will ever want a cartomizer again. I don't anymore, that's for DAMN sure!

Ernie, you gonna make another video? LOL!!!

Found a straw. Found scissors.

Found nirvana.

Seriously VOLCANO...mold a skinny little "+" in the inner cart right where it narrows. Sell them as blank "Auto Drip" carts. This is LITERALLY perfect.

Blue foam works too! Completely dried the plug!

Doh.. managed one flooding with this so far. Luckily it was a manual battery. I was using the cut straw rolled up like Evil Ernie suggested (yes I went and bought a box of straws lol) with blue foam as a plug. I basically took a T-Cut I had ready and cut the bottom part off and plugged the top with the remaining piece. This particular atty has an air flow problem (probably needs a good clean) and using a heavy draw I managed a mouthful of peanut butter e-liquid. Anyway, vaped out the excess, cleaned off the cart and re-inserted and its been fine. I also made one with polyfill. The jury is out on which is best just yet.

I also have a bag of nic-sorb that DIYFlavorShack.com sent with my kit that I can try if this doesn't pan out. It almost looks like the stuff you use in pillows, very fluffy and I have a big wad of it in my kit. I have not tried it at all so dunno if it is any good yet.

Here's the nicsorb stuff from DIYFlavorShack.com: http://www.diyflavorshack.com/ProductDe ... +Cartridge
