That's a non issue because the BF never comes into direct contact with an actual heat source.
The BF allows the juice to wick into the nickel wool bridge via direct contact, which in turn transfers the juice via capillarity to the coil element which produces the actual heat that vaporizes the juice. :)

Yeah, after reusing the same piece as a test over and over, rinsing it under water and pat drying then refilled for a few months now there is no appearance of it being burnt or melted. It appears that it is burnt, however, this is because the darker juices I have used 'stained' the foam somewhat. Even after a good rinse, no bad tastes or lack of performance. May hang onto it and try to keep using it from time to time but these DT's have sparked my inner dripper. hehe

Not all plastics can be heated past a certain temp without releasing toxic fumes. Plastic food containers had to be re-created for use in microwaves. I think a good source of info might be from a fire-fighter....pvc burning in a house fire emits deadly fumes.

Cotton, on the other hand, has been used for making candle wicks forever. Something to think about.

I used BF before I started dripping and using cartos. I never had one stick to the atty and melt or burn unlike poly fill did. I also have never had any issues with fumes emitting from the BF while being vaped with. One might also consider that if a PV was getting that hot, it would not be suitable for vaping as some one would be burned. I doubt a firefighter would be able to give you information on whether or not the BF mod is suitable for vaping. In fact this is not a new concept that we all just do. Many companies also sell it as a safe and suitable alternative to polyfil. We are not catching anything on fire and keeping the fire in one spot to burn a candle. I do not personally think the 2 can be compared. Also BF is different that PVC

Something to note, is that exposed to certain juices some bf will change colors, I have a piece that turned green... dont ask me how it happened but its green. Also, for people like me that are just way too lazy to buy and cut our own bf, sej sells some for dirt cheap

I think Spliner was the one who first mentioned this (sorry if this is wrong) but the BF does lose springy-ness (yeah, sure that's a word) after a few uses. I have also found this to be true. My personal vaping style is I top off or refill the same cart several times then put it into the "to be cleaned pile". When I clean the carts, I toss the BF and cut new. Sometimes, I will re-use it if it still looks springy.

I also tried the T-cut mod, but found that a wedge cut works better for me. Same concept, just a slightly different cut.

ummmm, there are a few out there on Youtube, not too many people even look for this anymore as carts are a thing of the past. we stopped selling them a while back too. You still have cartridge for use with the Magma atty? or are you looking to mod something else?
