Magma T-kit vapor output.

Postby joeshow5 » Fri Jan 27, 2012 3:50 am

Hi guys, I am relatively new to Volcano brand products. I have a brand new Magma T-Kit and was curious as to how to get optimum vapor output from it. Right now the vapor output is very very low and I thought maybe someone might know some tips to help. Any input is appreciated. I have had the kit for about 4 days now and I am somewhat of a heavy user.

Thanks in advance!

Hey joeshow5,

I am a heavy user too and I used to use the Magma tankomizer, which in my opinion is way better than the Inferno tankomizer except that it holds less than the Inferno one, and learned that when vapor production starts to get low it is time to clean your tankomizer. The cleaning cycles of the tanko depends on the juice you are using. For darker liquids I cleaned them every 3-4 days, as for when using lighter colored liquids I clean them every 6-7 days.

I'm not sure if you know, but to clean the tanko's, you do this:
1) Boil water (preferably distilled water) and pour in a coffee cup.
2) Slowly lower down the tanko with a spoon in the cup so you don't damage the tanko and to not burn your self with hot water.
3) Gently swish it around a few times and leave it for 15 minutes.
4) Take it out and blow through both ends. (Be careful when blowing through the top as it might dislodge the tip or wick.)
5) Wipe dry and leave it thread side down on top of a paper towel overnight to dry. (It may take more than overnight to dry, I rotated 2-3 tankos so when I clean one I leave it to dry about 2 days.)
6) Prime it with e-juice by dripping a few drops directly on the needle.
7) Vape on!

If you only have one tanko, and can't wait for it to dry, you can skip the air dry and just flood prime by dropping 10-12 drops of e-liquid, or more, until you see it coming out of the bottom (thread end). This will push out any water left in the tankos. Put it thread side down on a paper towel for 5 minutes, wipe the threads dry from any water/juice, pop in the tank, take a few dry pulls and vape on!
Dry pulling is puffing on the tanko without activating the battery. For manual batts, simply don't press the button. For auto batts, you cannot do this so before you attach the tanko to the battery, with your finger, cover the bottom of the threaded end and puff a few times then attach and vape on!

My additional suggestion to you if you have not done so, is to order spare tankos so that you can rotate them and will not end up with nothing to vape.

Hope this helps. :)

very well said. one other thing i would like to add is the way you vape can affect vapor production. short fast inhales or holding the vapor in longer will minimize the look of vapor, you want to use long slower softer inhales with quicker exhales.

Thanks for the advice. I cleaned it as instructed and vapor production is definitely a bit better, but still pretty weak. I went ahead and ordered another tankomizer and also a couple magma attys for dripping. For anyone reading this who may be second guessing purchasing from Volcano, don't. This product is top of the line. I was just hoping the tank would do the dripping for me without loss of vapor output. As far as e-cigs go I am impressed. Especially by the quality of branding. The designs are sleek, slick, and function as expected.

No problem, we are all here to help each other out.
In the future when you decide to upgrade to the big boys, Inferno or Lava Tube, give the Tube Tank a try. It's like a combination of both the tanko (convenience/hassle free) and dripping (warm vapor and best flavor).

Well, I have tried a couple different tankomizer, and tanks. I have cleaned them, dried them, primed them, and used them as instructed; but the vapor output continued to leave me wanting. I decided to toss everything tank related and stick with dripping and cartomizers. I'm pretty disappointed (no fault of Volcano) in the whole tank set up. I have tried the tanks with other companies too and have formed the opinion that they are not for me. I appreciate you guys trying to help though.

No worries joe .
It takes trial and error to find the method of vaping that you like, which is also why I have quit using the tankos because like you, it is not my forte.
So far, I have only dripped, used the tankos, and now on the Tube Tank, and have yet to try the clearos and/or cartos.
I drip at home and use the Tube Tank at work, and it has been great so far, but who knows, I might like the clearos or cartos when I try them in the future.
The important thing is that we all stay away from the cancer sticks, since that is the main reason a lot of people have switched to vaping. :D

i too went through the same thing with tanks, couldnt find the flavor or vapor production i would get from dripping. so i mainly stuck with dripping and cartos as well. until they came out with the tubetank. so if you ever find yourself upgrading to a inferno or lavatube, don't be afraid to give it a shot. it essentially a carto that is fed by a tank. for hours maybe even days of vaping bliss with no refills.

This is my first post so its probably in the wrong Place or something forums aren't really my thing there is too much to look through but I have an inferno tank kit and I like it but it feels like I have to pull really hard to get vapor. I was told by someone to take the o ring from around the battery... should I? Also the last time I refilled my tank at first it taste burnt similar to when a cartomizer is empty and it kinda stopped but do es it every few hits what should I do about that?

When using the tanko, it is recommended you take off the o-ring for better airflow but some like to leave it on for that tight pull. I took mine off when I was using them. As for the burnt taste, what I did was clean them (a couple times if necessary) and afterwards prime, dry pull, and then vape or I would just vape through it until the burnt taste is gone. You should always make it a habit to dry pull (sucking without activating the battery) when putting a freshly filled tank so the wick can soak to avoid burning the wick. Lastly, don't pull too hard when using the tanko as you might get juice in your mouth, use light pulls as if your breathing in and pull slightly longer than you would a carto or atty.
Hope this helps. :)
