I have noticed there is a handful of people on here in michigan, I was wondering about how hard would it be to set up a small shop or something like that here like in small shop or even in a kiosk in a mall? Would it be worth it, would there be enough profit made you think? Do I need to order just a massive amount to get a good discount even?

Hmmm... I am thinking that there is not much interest in this, that is ok. I can see why on this when I order from Volcano and get my order at my door two day later, that is not really much of a wait at all

With the amount of gear i have around, I already feel like I have my own shop, LOL. It would be cool to have a Vape bar around here. But it is a huge undertaking and costs a lot more than you think. I do know there is a smoke shop in Lansing that carries a good line up of Volcano gear.
If you set up in a high traffic area like in a college town you should have enough business to make it worth it. Just remember repeat customers are your bread and butter. Tourist areas are not the best for a business like this. They come in buy one thing from you and you never see them again. The rest of the business go to the site, which helps the company out, but not your store front.
Something you should try to look into if you don't have the money for the large start up costs, is to fine a already, well established store front, and partner up with them. Local coffee shops, bars, book stores, even music stores(the smaller non corporate ones), and even smaller gas stations, and party stores. Talk to the owners, explain ecigs to them and let them know, all the benefits of them and how much more business they could bring in if those that want to smoke and be there could stay there and still get their nic fix.
Looking into getting in to the disposable whole plan that will be starting soon might be a good place to start to get a better feel for the market around you. If they go over well, then you could branch out to more of the kits and juices.
Just my thoughts on it. I know in my general area the market is already pretty flooded by over priced junk ecigs and most places I have talked to that already have them don't want to have more stock to tend to. I do have a few coffee shops and a few local bars interested in getting involved with the wholesale thing. But I have too much going on right now to run it so I told them about the program and they are gonna run it them selves. I am not in this for the money, I am in it for the change and to help people stop smoking.
I have offered up my knowledge to the few places looking into getting into selling around here. So that once they do start if they ever want to have a night where I come in with all my gear and do a meeting showing people what it is all about and the differences between kits and everything. I have no issues doing a small seminar on ecigs. I used to do around here, but it was getting to much for me to continue. But once in a great while I would have no issues.

Thank you AB, you have gave me a lot to sit back and think about. I never really thought about the collage areas and such. See that is why I like to through out my ideas of anything onto this site for people because if you rely on only yourself for thinking, your knowledge and views will never grow.

Glad I could give you some inspiration, or at least some food for thought. I could have gone on for an hour or much longer but it is early, I am still tired and the kids are being crazy today. I may add on to this later today. Now I wish there was some coffee in this damn house, or one less kid so I could take them in my car, so I could get some.
Why don't coffee shops deliver here? .............hmmmmmm new money venture in the making for around here home delivery coffee shop. OHHHHH coffee shop on wheels....... ok maybe I need a nap.

LoL yeah it is possibly too early yet. I am good with the managing and running of things, I actually had my own company for about three years and was doing very well. We were a distributor of RV parts and accessories to campgrounds and RV dealers. I ended up closing it up and walking away to help my dad out whose 30+ company got into some really hard times a few years ago. I became part of the new skeleton crew there and became the main guy in the service center doing all the main repairs so that things could keep going for him but for much less. His company is back on stronger feet now but as far as mine goes, I will never restart it back up again. I loved it but I worked 7 days a week and put in 12 to more hour days. Problem with it for me not wanting to go back into the company I had started is I do not want to have something that big again. Running out of a 30x60 building and having at least 3 semi loads a week coming in for restocking was not what I had planned in the start when I started it out of my garage. I never truly wanted to be that big but in order to cater to our companies that we sold to we had to take on more and more product eventually having over 20,000 different items in stock. At least with the volcano line and having a store front, I know I wont have to have that kind of an inventory and working with the retail end of it and not wholesale you get to interact with your customers better. I am a people person and that is what makes what ever I do worth it is building those relationships. The big plus to with this type of product is that you get to know that someday, someone's life will be saved from cancer in direct result of the products you sell them.

I hadn't noticed all of the Michiganders, and odd that I never noticed A.B. (I thought you were a Volcano employee in Hawaii).
In any case, I've never noticed anyone else in Michigan vaping, ever.
I'd absolutely love a place to buy juice in an emergency, though.

Hey no problems at all, yeah AB is a michigander, if you look below everyones avitar it shows where we are all from. I am with you on that one, I don't really see many people in public but I just noticed more so that there are a few of the users on here from michigan. My mom though is in the medical field and she was telling me last night that in the hospital here in grand rapids, there are doctors that actually walk around vaping in the hospital! Now that is cool!

There is a really good crowd of vapers here in MI and there is a vapers meet over in the White Lake area. Not sure when the next one is, they have them posted over at ECF in the Michigan sub forum. You can also find where all the local vendors are and where you can pick up juices and gear in MI.
I know of one place in Lansing selling Volcano gear. There are a large number of vendors here in MI for vaping gear. Like Great Lake Vapors. They are in the UP they sell big mods. Revolver is in Blissfield I believe. There is a place here in Flint just a few miles from me. Here is a link of the MI vendors, there are a few missing but I am sure they will get added soon. http://vaporsearchusa.com/index01.html
Just click on the state and it will give you the list.
