% Mixes with M-tanks

Postby Symon » Mon May 02, 2011 2:34 pm

Okay, the I-tanks prefer an 80/20 mix and are quite temperamental even then. The M-tanks work much better. Has anyone tried different mixes (70/30, 50/50 etc.) with them and what were the results?

Being new to all this, I placed an order with ELP. The Mocha from my last order is labeled PG. The other 4 bottles are not but they all have been working perfect in my Magma. I didn't even know this was something to look for. Sucks being the new guy.

I will be ordering an Inferno soon so I'm curious what the right answer is.

Volcano recommends an 80/20 mix...YMMV ;)

I'm currently using 90/10 DIY mix and it's working just fine in both my I-tanks and M-tanks. The viscosity is the real reason for the mix. You probably could use a 100% VG if you also thin it down with PGA or distilled water, but it's much simpler to stick close to Volcano's 80/20 recommendation.

I've used 50/50 mix from day one in both I tanks and M tanks. The only time I have a problem is when a tank gets sloppy around the spike or doesn't seal at the top where it joins the tatty, or I forget what I have in my hand and hit it like a cigarette instead of a PV.

Both my I-tanks and M-tanks vape best with the recommended 80/20 mix. I do properly thin my diy and am able to use 70/30 in the tanks. Any other percentage is usually best dripped or used in a LR carto, a mego carto, or clearo, depending on the specific juice. Some juices taste best using a certain delivery systerm. Some don't matter.

I have not used anything above 20% VG on the M-tanks but I wanted to throw this in. When I started using my first I-tank I was using 40% VG. I switched shortly after to 20% because of the flavor difference. What is interesting is that the tank that I was was using 40% VG in at first now has a noticeably harder draw on it. I only used the 40% VG in it for about a week, but I think it did make a difference. Just thought I would mention that.

My M tankos work best with 100% PG. Any mixes with VG increase how quickly they clog up and how frequently I have to clean them. I have a few Halo juices of unknown PG/VG that clog the tankos in a single day of use. 80/20 works fine, but will need to be cleaned more frequently. I have no problem going a full week of heavy use with all PG before cleaning. This is all assuming you don't do something to thin the mix, like PGA. I agree with ChuckB, I think its a viscosity issue.

I use juicy vapord reduced pg and pinkspot pg/vg mix in my m tanks. I dont know their percentages but they work really well with my tankos.
