Modifying mouthpiece!

Postby shaker » Thu Apr 29, 2010 6:36 pm

I don't know if anyone else has tried this...I haven't read anything about it. I've always had trouble with weak draws due to low breath.. Today I had an idea. I held a nail over my lighter (yes, I still use one occasionally)
when the nail was hot I slowly twisted it into the hole in the mouthpiece to enlarge it by melting the plastic.
Wow! Much shorter draws and tremendous hits!!!! I've used it for about 8 hours and with topping off still getting great hits! For those who are technically minded..it was an 8d nail! (keep turning the nail or it will adhere to the melted plastic...a little trim with a razor and it will sit flush for refilling!!
I've also noticed that with the weaker draw I don't get liquid in my mouth as much as I used to....
Gonna try it a few more days...and then probably enlarge all my mouthpieces! LOL

Very interesting. I didn't realize that the mouthpiece was restricting the airflow. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow and see if I can screw it up somehow :D :D

It's funny, I have a 901 with the flat tip mouthpiece, I dropped it on the cement one day, and the very tip with the tiny hole is located, that very tip snapped off, leaving a larger opening. I did use it that day without any problems and it really did seem that I was getting more vape out of it.

?? Maybe I will try to modify one or two of my Magma blanks and see what happens, however, I must say I get a great amount of vape from it as it is.

But I am willing to try new things (as long as they don't involve tasting the bad juices or attempting big modifications, or anything with electricity). Okay, I guess I am not that willing to try new things, but I will try this. :D

I think that would actually give you less vape as you could inhale faster so the coil would not produce much vape. Though it is good for a person that has breathing problems and can't drag that hard since the air moving over the coils will be slow.

I agree, and cannot explain why, but it really did seem to work pretty well. ??

I enlarge the hole of all my cartridges when I get them.

Always have since, like Leesa, I dropped my 901 way back when and the end piece of the cartridge broke and fell out.
The end result was I got a lot more hit and vapor for the same effort.

When I got the first Magma's way back when, I widened the hole on them as well and it was a beautiful thing.

Sorry I never posted it, haha. I honestly never even think about it anymore.

Does it help cut down on the condensation on the inside of the outer cart? Seems like it would cause it would allow you to be able to pull more of that vapor out of the cart. Ash did you ever notice a difference?

I've only been doing it for today, but I have seen no change in condensation.
