Musicians / Music / Word of Advice

Just a cautionary tale of advice to those of us who make our living as Musicians (and this goes for music hobbiests as well as musical weekend warriors) I have found (mostly through the unwitting mistake of a fellow musician I work with) that it's not a good idea to put your V cig in your pocket or anywhere else on stage while performing. The V cig is easily activated by sound..... period. This of course drains your battery quickly, can blow an atty, and you will feel the heat pretty quickly if it's in your pocket. The V pack
doesn't protect this from happening and in fact will cause it to activate off and on as we've experienced. As it's not that easy to walk off stage during a performance to get it away from the sound waves that activate it you may want to leave it in a safer place during this time. I am going to take a wild guess and assume that if you are in the audience of a live music venue or a dance club with reasonable volume it may be a possibility so heads up. Bass frequencies seem to be the most severe activation culprit but, it isn't limited to that and for those of you who may be under the impression that it's just very loud head banging music that causes this....it's not. We have found that jazz bass and other instrument sound waves in all forms of music will achieve the same results. We love our volcano's and really dig the vaping scene so please don't take this as a negative thing. It's because we dig it so much that we didn't want this to have to happen to others unwittingly. Experience will always be the best teacher so take this post for what it's worth to you. Thanks for indulging !!!!!!! "Vape On"

That's what manual batteries are for.

You're both of course correct on the "manual battery" idea which I was going to mention but thought that the post was a little long in the tooth as it was so I left it out. I am going to experiment with using some foam to wrap around the v cig and placing in it in a container ( a harmonica type box for example) and see if that cuts the sound pressure enough to keep it from activating. Nothing wrong with a manual battery but, I would like to try and see if I can solve this issue using the regular battery. This of course isn't a "save the world" issue but more like a "save the battery" issue as we really dig using our v-cigs.....

When I first got my ecigs, I had four of them laying out on my microphone stand shelf while I was jamming... it looked like a light show... definately don't want auto batteries around loud music.
ALSO...
Anyone know of manual batteries available somewhere for the Volcanos and the Magmas?

Thanks for the heads up Keo. You probably just saved me from having to buy some more batteries and atty's.
I Want You.

Heh... I am the 'unwitting musician' friend of Keo's who experienced first hand the effects of a Volcano e-cig in my jeans 'coin pocket' while playing bass at a local jam. YEEEEOOOOWWWWW! You could have fried eggs on it, and I just about fried mine...
Since then, I ordered the Magma, and ordered two manual batts with my M-pack starter kit. WAY better now, and I highly recommend the manuals for musicians or anyone else who's going to be around loud music (or other noisy environments, for that matter).

Chuckle............... naw, you'll still run out of stuff and need me !!!!! Looks like we'll both be vaping onstage together @ the venue tomorrow without having to store our ecigs....
