New (to me) magma auto batteries
by icanhazvapor » Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:40 am
In this past order I decided to pick up some new auto magma batteries, since one of my first ones finally died. For what it's worth, the new ones are blue leds.
I rather like the new look of them with the stripes. They seem a slightly tighter fit onto the atty, than my old ones. The draw on them s absolutely perfect. They're activating almost immediately on a draw, but don't seem to activate otherwise. The led appears to be a bit dimmer than the old ones, though that may just be a difference from the green led. Incidentally, I actually prefer this glow to the near blinding ones that I had.
Offhand, I can't think of anything else to say on them. Just on performance, I'd have to give them
out of five. Hopefully they'll last at least as long as my first ones.

Sort of an old post, but hopefully you'll still see this. How long did the old ones last and out of curiosity, are the new ones flat or curved on the LED end?

The old ones lasted just over a year, of quite heavy use, and abuse. The new ones were/are flat on the end.

Thanks. I'm curious because I started out with the Magma kit, bought an extra battery which ended up getting exchanged due to weirdness. The Magma kit came with rounded end batteries that look "normal" (as normal as a black cigarillo with white stripes and a gold band?), but the extra battery was a flat tip.
Used those three for about three months.
Now I use a knock-off Inferno sized battery with I-tankos for driving because I drive 2.5 hours a day and got tired of switching batteries and tanks while driving. When I'm at work, I use the M-pack and tankos, cause it's easier. Plus I can sneak a puff in the locker room and no one is the wiser. (You didn't hear that from me though).
One thing I noticed is the power output from one of the original batteries is starting to diminish. Sometimes it last half an hour, sometimes it doesn't. I intend to keep using it until it gets to the point where it only lasts as long as a normal cigarette would, but I was curious as to how long (in months, not minutes) that might be. I have a small ring of scotch tape around it so I know which one is the short stick.
