New Tube Tank Help Please

Postby Meowmix138 » Thu Feb 09, 2012 5:14 pm

I have a Magenta lava tube. I have been successfully using a 7ml Tube Tank (The large one) with the carto that came with it. It's worked great, I'm officially in love.

When I received the email that the 3.0 duel coils were in stock, I ordered 5 with new juice and a smaller 4ml Tube Tank. When I got the smaller TUbe Tank, the carto in it was not working correctly. No suction, no vape. It got hot but nothing happened. I followed the instructions on how to fill and prime these, (prime the poly fill, fill the tank, suck a few times until you see bubbles with it off the battery) and nothing worked, I figured I got a bad carto. So I called and it's currently being replaced as it was deemed DOA.

My problem is I now have a fresh 5 pack of 3.0 duel coils and I'm still having issues. I opened one of the new Cartos, primed it, filled it with juice, gave it a few sucks and put it on my lava tube. I started low with 3.0 volts but I noticed that I wasnt getting very good suction and almost no vape at all. I kept with it and tried to figure out the issue, scoured the forums and did a google search. At that point I broke the whole tube tank down to wipe the O rings off and visually check if any holes were plugged. Nothing I could find wrong with it at all.

I then decided to try another carto, maybe I got 2 dead ones in a row. I opened a new carto, set it up the same way, primed with juice, filled it, put it all together, gave it a couple quick sucks with my finger on the end, then a few dry sucks with the battery off to get the juices flowing. I see bubbles, I know the poly fill is fully saturated, I know I haven't flooded it. I put it on the lava tube, again with 3.0 voltage. I got very little vape. I turned the voltage up a bit to 4.0 and started getting vape, so I know it's working. I turned it up to 5.0 and I get good, thick clouds, but absolutely no taste. Just plain vg taste and lots of thick clouds. I had sweet tarts in it at first, then topped it off with choconila haze.

It feels different then the big tube tank, it feels like there's not enough suction. I can hear the air at the bottom of the tank when I inhale. I don't get any flavor and I have to puff on it quite a few times before I can get a good vape cloud. There is a small amount of vape from the bottom of the tube tank that comes out when I vape. I've made sure all the O rings are in place, the tube looks like it has no visible damage and I've already tried 3 carts in it.

Sorry to make such an epic-long post but I'm getting very frustrated and can't seem to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if it's the tube or the Cartos or both? I did try to use one of the duel coils on my 7ml big tank and it acted the same way, no suction. But I noticed on the big tank, the bottom of the carto is completely round and these Cartos have notches on both sides. Does that matter? Did I buy the wrong Cartos?

Thanks for the help, I'm still quite new to all this, but I love it and have been analog free for 3 weeks now.

A little bit more info: the new, smaller tube tank with the new 5 pack Cartos feel like I'm sucking air through a straw. My large tube tank with the carto that came with the kit feels like I'm sucking with some resistance. Not sure if that helps. Seems like I'm not getting a good enough seal.

the TT's come with the 1.5ohm DCC. If you got the 3.0ohm DCC they are not gonna vape the same the will not produce the same vapor at the same voltage.

the airiness feeling is most likely just that you became to the other carto gradually as it slowly clogged up and now getting the new ones that are not clogged at all feel very airy.

Ah, I see. But would they effect taste as well? And what is the difference between them?

I found the topic on the difference between 1.5 and 3.0 but I never thought that would effect the flavor so much. Yay for being a newb!

yes resistance does effect taste. usually the higher resistance gives better taste, and less vape, but with DCC's a 3.0 DCC has 2-3.0ohm coils in it. it takes a lot of power to get them up to full steam, it is really best do a few second preheat of the coils before drawing.

Press the button for a few seconds without drawing on the device. Then let off the button and immediately repress the button and take your draw. This will preheat the coils so that when you take your real draw it will be up to speed and producing at its fullest.

the 1.5ohm is a designed for lower voltage vaping. it works from 3.0v to about 4.1/4.2v. it is known as a lower resistance ohm carto which means it will similar vaping of using highvoltage

the 3.0ohm is designed for higher voltage vaping. this can be used all the way up to 6volts.

the flavor of both will vary by the voltage you set your lavatube at. thats whats great about variable voltage you can fine tune for, flavor, temperature, and throat hit just by changing the voltage

Thanks for all the great info guys. I'm still new and trying to figure out which I like best. I seem to really prefer flavor and big clouds, just trying to find a nice medium between all the different types of atomizers and juices.
