Newbie Clearomizer Questions

Hello All! I've been loving my inferno, purchased on January 6. I'm using the original smaller clearos that came with it, vaping red hot lava 8 Mg. I've learned a lot by reading the forums and watching the videos, but still have some questions:
1. How do I know when my clearos need to be replaced? Do they just stop working? Lousy taste?
2. I'm experiencing the burnt flavor after one or two hits, described in other threads, but found that pointing the tip down, for better wicking, usually solves that problem.
3. Can I use the larger magma clearos with the inferno? Does it matter that they will stick out farther from the cone?
Thanks,
Rob

#1 you will notice that the coil gets gunked up (visibly) and you can clean it by following volcano approved cleaning methods on the site. i just toss em and use a new one since they are cheap enough and i am lazy. besides, they do extend the life by cleaning, but nothing beats a fresh one.
#2 you probably need to pull out the last seal, the "cup seal" and enlarge the notches that are intended for the wick. nail clippers or a scissor do fine and then replace it making sure that the notches align with the wick so that it is not restricting the fibers from bringing new juice to the coil.
#3 yes you can use any clearo/ cartridge that volcano offers with the inferno, and yes it does stick out past the cone but not very much, and totally worth it for the larger resivoir.
Also, as a side note... i recommend that you take some clear tape... not scotch tape but the invisible tape, and give the bottom of the clearo ONE good tight wrap. i find that this helps to prevent the clear plastic from cracking near the metal base and will extend the life of it and prevent leaking, while still maintaining the ability to slide in and out of the cone.
if you have any more questions feel free to ask.... that is what we are here for.
Happy Vaping!!

as web mentioned you will be able to see the coil getting gunked up. now this will vary in length of time depending on juice, darker or sweeter juice will make this happen faster. unlike web i do clean using shado's vid on youtube. you can search for shadoent on youtube. it will be the powerflush and dry burn video, using this vid i have cartos and clearos that are very old and still work great.
2. I'm experiencing the burnt flavor after one or two hits, described in other threads, but found that pointing the tip down, for better wicking, usually solves that problem.sounds like your not wicking fast enough are you using a 80pg/20vg juice. when i use a 50/50 blend this does happen to me as well.
3. Can I use the larger magma clearos with the inferno? Does it matter that they will stick out farther from the cone?you can pretty much use any option volcano offers on the inferno, as far as it sticking further out the cone this is just a visual thing, but volcano i believe made mention of making a longer cone just for that reason. dont know if that has been put into effect yet, but only time will tell.
Thanks,
Rob
as far as cracking and using tape like web said, this is something i dont do or experience. my trick is in the way i put on and take off as well as handle the clearos. simply putting on and taking off from the base so there is no added stress to the clearo tubing, as far as holding i always use the battery and never let it hang from my mouth which would also put stress on them. hope this helps.

When I vape the clearo I tilt it so it is angling down so as to have juice up by the coil. Not a big deal.
Cleaning is the best as I love it that I can extend the life, and it almost seems to hit better the more I use and clean them.
It takes about 1 hour to clean 6 of them and dry burn.

Thanks, everyone, for the good information- much appreciated! Could use a link or info on how to prime a new clearo?

Here is a link to how Shado fills it. I do the same but use the needle bottle cap instead of a syringe.

Bottom line: I put it all back together carefully, filled it with sweet tart, and it is the best performing clearo I've got. Nice warm, smooth flavor, and none of that harshness after a couple hits.
I told the owner of my local Volcano Café about this, and he shook his head, and asked "Does it still work?" I guess he doesn't read these forums!
My remaining clearos are all soaking as I type this!
