Overall experience

Hi all,
It might be long but if you have time, please read:

Some of you may have already read in my other posts about my less than pleasant endeavor these past few days with my 2 recent orders with Volcano, but to those who haven't, here it is:

On 01/05/12, I ordered a total of $102.03 and during the check out process, it gave me an option to choose the free 2-day FedEx, which I did.
On 01/08/12, I placed another order totaling $109.45 and chose the free 2-day FedEx as well.
Since FedEx does not ship to P.O. Boxes, I entered my home address.
When I tracked my order later on, it gave me a USPS tracking code. Naturally I contacted CS and they replied by telling me they will forward the message to the shipping department. The next day, I get a reply from the shipping department informing me that due to my location in Guam (for those not familiar with Guam it is a US territory in the pacific), that they could not ship FedEx so they shipped USPS instead.
My apartment complex does not have a mail box and I do not receive mail (hence I have a P.O. Box) so any items sent through USPS to my home address will be sent back to sender. I have informed the shipping department and they stated that if the item is sent back they will notify me and if I can notify them if I do receive them. Knowing my 1st order was in fact already in Guam through the tracking system, I drove down to the main post office to try and retrieve my items before they get sent back. On my first visit, since it was already on delivery, I had to return later or check the next day. The next morning comes and I drive down to the post office and my items are not there and was told to check back again later. I return home and later that afternoon, I see on the USPS tracking that my item was sent back due to marked incomplete address which is BS since I double checked my address before clicking check out. So here I go again driving down to the post office and finally retrieved my 1st package before it being sent back. As for my 2nd order, I'm not sure if the USPS guy had forwarded the items to my P.O. Box or if Volcano called them to do so but it has been forwarded to my P.O. Box, but I won't know for sure until I actually see the items in my mail box as I do not trust the USPS.

Sorry the story got so long but here is what I wanted to say:
I do have a gripe about Volcano changing my shipping carrier without notifying me through e-mail if that is okay to do so before they ship it out, which in my opinion should have done in order to avoid this great inconvenience they have caused, not to mention the time and gas I had to expend on my part, and have still yet to receive my 2nd package and I hope that in the future, places that are not able to be delivered by whatever carrier should be unable to select or at least have a disclaimer during the check out process.

During this endeavor, Shadow Rhelm had assured me that they will work it out and help in anyway they can to make sure I receive my order. This did ease me a little bit but being as frustrated as I was, meant little to me at the time. Jayna from shipping also was very concerned at my situation and ensured that if the item was sent back they will notify me right away, but this again meant little to me as I was furious at the time for having to go back and forth to the post office to get my item.

I just wanted to say thank you to Shadow Rhelm for the support and apologize to Jayna for my response which may have been in anger and thanks for being concerned (if Jayna doesn't see this, can Shadow Rhelm let her know?).

So after this bump in the road, overall I still like Volcano and am sure that they will make changes where it is necessary, as you can rarely, if never, find a company whether internet based or not that will go the extra mile for you.

I will continue to order from Volcano even though I have no other option but USPS, but hey, that might change in the future.

As of writing this post, I still am waiting for my 2nd package which should be at my P.O. Box in a couple days if USPS does it right.

Enough rambling.

I'm sorry you've had such a frustrating experience

Unfortunately these sorts of problems tend to happen when you order out of country. I'm going to suggest you write to customer service and check with the business before you ship out of country, in the future, with any business. It'll likely save you a headache later. But I can understand why you didn't think to do so, because I don't recall the order page saying anything about what delivery services go where.

Well, like I have stated before, there should be a disclaimer in order to prevent things like this, especially if you are internet sales based since your dealing with the world wide web.
But hey, that's all in the past and everything is fine. I just hope that they take in to consideration to put up a disclaimer in order to prevent another siuation with future customers. :)
