Questions about the company itself

I could not find a good place to ask this so this forum is the closest I think.

The company is Hawaiian. Does the company employ or are run by any native Hawaiians? ( that is any Hawaiians who are descendants of the Polynesian peoples of Hawaii, not "Hawaiians" who are called Hawaiians simply because they were born there and have American descendants.

Does the company have an official position on Polynesian peoples of Hawaii, either in a national pride role or some other?

Many Hawaiian companies advertise a belief in restoring the dying culture of the Polynesian peoples of Hawaii and feel that this culture should be preserved. Does Volcanoecigs take such a position? If so, what does Volcanoecigs actively do to foster this position?

Ummm, just because the company is located in Hawaii, that doesn't mean that it's "Hawaiian". :problem:

Of course not. That's why I asked. Many Hawaiian companies feel strongly about the above issues. I simply wanted to know if Volcanoecigs was one of them.

Sorry I missed your rant before you deleted it.

Of course it matters - to some and not to others. I find it's nice to hear of companies who have strong community values or are involved in local social issues. Some people even base their willingness to purchase from a company on such things. I'm not a Hawaiian, I don't do business with any other Hawaiian companies, so I was curious.

I thought perhaps that was something Volcanoecigs was into because even though there are a lot of Hawaiian companies, they don't make such lavish use of terms that are so dear to Hawaiians such as Volcanoecigs does with it's product line.

Culture is a cool thing, and although for me it would never effect my personal buying decision...i do notice the Hawaiian themes. Even the ranks: Menehune, Ali'i are Hawaiian mythology, and status in society respectively.

All i know is that i will keep buying no matter what a company believes in as long as the product delivers (well, i mean unless i find what they believe to be unethical and they act on those unethical concepts but that's an entirely different matter methinks)
