Too fast! (but okay)

A while back, I expressed concern that I might be affected by the "Netflix Affect"*, but now my complaint is the opposite. You ship too damn fast, even when I make a special request in the special shipping instructions field during the order. In my latest case, I'm out of town, but want to place the order, and want to take the free Fedex shipping, but don't want to risk it being unattended. "Please delay shipping for xxx delivery" was completely ignored.

But you know what? You guys are totally awesome, Fedex left the order under the mat, and I think I have enough juice to live in China** for a bit, so no harm, no foul.

On a serious note, though, it'd be cool if you could actually target a specific delivery date!

* Back when Netflix was delivery-only, new customers would get next-day service, and us older customers would delayed service. I've *never* gotten this with Volcano.

** Yeah, moving to China for three years. I'll figure out how to deal with the Volcano ordering problem when my recently-delivered reserves start to run out!

That could be useful in some cases, but a vast majority of us want all of our stuff YESTERDAY

Well it might be a nice idea, but I can see the same thing happening like when we did pre orders for some new releases and orders for items that were on back order. Shipping invoices would get lost so orders never got packed or sent, or orders that got packed and were awaiting to go out got over looked and missed the day they were supposed to go out.

Plus if we started getting a lot of people that wanted their orders on a certain day, we don't have the space to store all of those packages.
