Tube Tank - 4ml
by monarch79 » Mon Nov 21, 2011 1:56 pm
I have been vaping on two new Tube Tanks (both 4ml) for the past three hours or so, and I must say, I am quite pleased...
There has been some debate on whether or not they are going to wick well enough with 1 tiny hole... With quite a bit of puffing on each one, I haven't had a dry-ish hit yet... However the juice doesn't seem to be re-absorbing, or if it's is, it's really really sneaky... I can get the hole to bubble a bit, if I really try to suck on the mouthpiece, but other than that it doesn't seem to be moving...
I'm gonna throw my hat in here and suggest two larger fill holes instead of one small... The Liquinator uses two giant slots, the Cartomator uses two small holes (slightly larger than the TT), and I'm not sure if one small hole is gonna keep up with me... I don't know, it's working for me so far, but I would suggest 2 slightly larger holes from my experience with the other two carto-tanks I've had...
We shall see!

That being said, also keep in mind that this is an issue with the carto and not the tank itself, and the carto is the replaceable part. The tank is what we paid about $15 of the $17 we spent, and it seems to be very well made. I have two TTs, and neither of them spin like the Liquinator (which has too loose a grip on the carto) and they both look very clean and professional. Nice lines, pretty decent finish on the caps (only one out of four had a scuffy finish)... And the bonus to the 4ml tank: it works on my GLV without an adapter.
The cartos hit pretty well, but I've never used a DCC so I don't have much to compare it to... It's putting out the vapor that a standard Boge LR carto would, but without any distortion to the flavor of the juice. I might even go slightly lower in ohms and see what happens. I do like the hit of these cartos so far. It seems like it takes a second for them to fire up, but when they do, they snap crackle and pop!
- LONG STORY SHORT -
I think these are well worth $17 for the 4ml, and $20 for the 7ml. The carto isn't having problems, but seems to be wicking slowly. The tank itself seems to be flawless. If I had to find fault with the tank itself, I would say the lettering isn't my favorite. Just the V logo by itself would be cooler IMO. Besides that, I would like to see two slightly larger holes in the carto, and cartos with higher and lower ohms available in the future... All in all, a very good buy.

Weird. I assume there isn't primer in these since theres a filler. I can't get any flavor. When pulling i saw bubbles that indicated the juice was feeding into the carto. but now there are no bubbles. I've been vaping for a while now and while the vapor gets HOT, no flavor or juice is coming through.

what liquid are you using? sometimes DCCs don't play well with certain flavors.

Nice Review Monarch! I decided to wait to get my tube tanks, when I order the Lavatube, as I probably will only get a couple/few of the 7ml ones. I've been wondering about the one small punched hole myself, but we'll see. I'm glad that they look very polished. Yes, I agree too that just the Volcano logo would be a nice change...Maybe even the logo colored with Volcano in black in small lettering underneath or something? Or just put the Volcano Tube tank in small lettering at the bottom of the tank, so it's more out of the way, but still shows that this is volcano's version? I don't dislike the letter that's already on them though. Either way, I'm excited to get these.

Coming from someone who has more then half dozen Tanks already....keep in mind....when vaping, you will be heating up the carto tube....this in turn will heat the juice and make it thinner, allowing it to flow into the holes easier.
I vape higher VG content and on some cartos I do punch bigger holes....and others....I use the stock small hole...

Shado, Dear Sir, Would you mind sharing your experience punching new holes and enlarging existing holes?

you need to really fill it good more like 15 drops or so. just keep adding until it stops absorbing.
