Tube Tank burnt taste?

Postby Bthatto1 » Fri Dec 09, 2011 10:31 am

Okay, I'm a newbie to vaping. I bought my Inferno kit 2 months ago and I enjoy it a lot. Recently I ran out of plastic tips and was struggling to get a good drag out of them often. So, today I stopped at my local Volcano store and the employee sold me a Tube Tank, he showed me how to fill it up and told me to prime it or whatnot. I got home, and primed the "spongy" area with about 25 drips, then filled up the tank just about 3/4 of the way. I let it sit for about 30 minutes, and attempted to drag. I instantly got this intense burnt taste in my mouth and was disgusted. Then I unscrewed the battery and wiped it out with a Q-tip to clean it. Then let it sit longer, and I am still getting this awful taste... Please help?

now you said about 25 drops in the carto, was it pooling up at the top yet? i dont go by drops with them, simply when i see juice start to pool at the top. thats how i know its filled properly.

Did you take several no button hits on it after you filled it? What liquid are you using?

what do you mean by pooling? I accidently just now pulled the carto apart from the tube tank plastic piece and liquid went every where.. especially down the center of the carto.. Should I left it dry out?

What you are looking for is the filler material to look sorta slushy...and no juice just sitting on top floating around.

As far as the TT coming apart....just wipe it down and give a little blow (not hard blow) from the threaded ends....this will move any excess juice up and to the top of the filler material....and reassemble it, refill the tank, adn enjoy vaping. Or, what little juice got into the air shaft may just get absorbed into the material....and follow same routine as previously stated...and ...again....enjoy vaping. :D

Hope this helped some.... ;)

problem withtrading it in is a burnt taste means that the carto was improperly used, not defective. you should be able to buy a few replace able cartos, @ about $3 each. rather then having to buy a whole new tubetank. also next time follow this as it shows you exactly how everything should be set up.

Went and got a new carto, completely free, there actually was something wrong with mine. (bad inner tube or something) .. and with this new one I still am having an issue.. I have followed all the directions of putting it together, filling it up, all that.. I got some good hits from it but now it's starting to wear off. I'm still dripping liquid in the carto, but now liquid is starting to leak out the bottom of the tube tank, the outter part where it connects to the battery.. Every time I'm dripping I notice my hands are covered in eliquid. Something must be wrong with me.. help

you only need to drip initally, once you have it going the tank will refill the carto as you vape. you can also do the dry hits, by not hitting the button and taking afew inhales to refill the carto as well. i usually do a few dryhits every hour or so but i also vape non stop.

When you drip into the carto make sure you drip to the side and not down the center tube. That's a direct line to the battery connection.

I believe rockclimb mentioned taking some dry hits without hitting the button. That should draw some liquid into the carto from the tank.

Give those things a try...
