Tube Tank Retainer Clip

Postby Aussum » Sat Jan 07, 2012 6:23 pm

Ok, so last night I accidently spilled my entire tank because I pressed on the drip tip while holding the tank. The entire tank came off the bottom cap and dumped my juice all over me. I know, I know… I should not have done it that way, but I did.

So, today I went to the local Ace Hardware and started looking around. I found these 3/8” outside retainer clips that don’t require a groove. It seems they have sort of a sharp edge on the inside that grips really well. I bought 3 of them for a whopping .21 cents. It took a bit of work to get them on without the proper pliers, but I did it and it WORKS GREAT! It would take one hell of a pull to get the tanks off of the bottom cap or to slide off the carto. I plan on getting the pliers that is used for these kind of clips, and never having to worry about spills again.

Let me know what you guys think.

its a cool idea but I would not like to have to carry pliers with me all th etime to refill the tanks,

I know these thread also had a cool idea for preventing it form happening. 4ml-tube-tank-paperclip-anti-slip-clip-t7634.html

mind you, you wouldn't be able to do use the Tube Sock with this fix.

You can also see in that thread where I pointed out a pawn DT or even a Ming will help prevent that from happening.

i carry 3 tanks with me all day, so filling up while away from the house is never an issue.

i went out and got the snap ring pliers for this sort of ring for $6.00. They work perfect and i'm really happy with this solution.
