Tube tank suggestion

Postby mjames74 » Thu Jan 12, 2012 3:44 pm

I haven't gotten mine yet, should be here tomorrow or sat I think but after reading the forums and looking at it I think I have a suggestion to make it a complete sealed system where it won't come apart which seems to be a slight issue.

remove the white cap on the carts, thread the inside of the cart tube, make a tip with the same top hat design with the bottom of the cart, with the o-ring at the top of the threads.

thread the tip into the carto, it seals and all threaded together as once piece. I would pay an extra $1 per cart for the extra work that would go in it.

could sell high end tips too with soft rubber threads so the threads are sealed better with less chance to unscrew would imagine would give a better hit too since the cart and tip would be one piece in the end.

Nice suggestion. Would your method need a threaded drip tip with lip?

yeah so would need to mod the tip and cart, where it would thread together as one piece with a lip like the bottom of the cart, so once its all theaded together the lip of the tip would hold it down as the lip of the cart holds the other end making it once piece where it wouldn't come apart.

so even if the tip costs $5 vs the $3 they are now, and the carts are $4 instead of $3, would be worth it for the piece of mind in my opinion.

I could see the functionality of it, but in honesty, I would not buy. i can't think of a reason to have the added insurance for the cost. I have never had a tube tank slide and dump on me. I chalk this up to being extremely conscious when I handle them and only use the tank on the LT. If I feared others grabbing my device, maybe I would want to pay the extra cost.

Also, there are other cheaper methods to achieve this. There is a thread where a member bent a paper clip to hold the tank on the carto and AB even suggested a pawn type drip tip for added insurance.

Though I am sure Volcano could sell this suggestion, I just am not sure I would pay for it.

And here is the link to the paper clip idea! Not sure it will work with the tube sock on the inferno battery though.

Yeah those work but that not great looking astetically. Was suggesting something that would work out of box that's more factory that there wouldn't be any real noticeable difference in the looks.

The issue I see is...refilling...you would have to thread it off of the carto....and hope usage wouldnt "lock" it up and not be able to twist it open. The tubes used are not super strong, and the potential added torque to remove may damage the tubing....there are already tank mods that use this similar design and have been reported the exact issue when removing to refill.
