USPS v. Fedex

Just throwing this out there for you guys -

My order was placed on Wednesday - shipped via USPS - received on the other side of the world (well - Georgia anyway) on Saturday morning !!!!!

Woo Hoo! I love getting new toys!

If it had shipped Fedex it wouldn't have been here till Monday.

Of course, special kudos have to go out to Volcano for filling those orders so fast

Yeah, the bonus (at the moment) for USPS is Saturday delivery though they're looking into to getting Saturday FedEx deliveries too...

The way I understand it though is there would be an additional charge for the Saturday delivery w/Fedex

I ordered on Wednesday night, during chat, and I used Fedex and got my order on Friday. Yay for Volcano I heard mention that Volcano would eat some of that cost though (for Sat Dellivery)

I ordered after chat (around 10:30 pm ET) on Wednesday, and got FedEx 2-day. I think I waited too late to order, and it wasn't completed until Thurs. afternoon, so I am now waiting until Monday for my 2-day FedEx.... I think in this case the USPS may have made it on Saturday, but I didn't want to risk it after hearing of 7-10 day waits in some cases. Oh well, just one more day and I'll have my Inferno tanks!
If I recall from that chat regarding Sat. FedEx delivery, it seems like they said the extra charge for that was like $15-16, and they would pass on $7-$8 of it to the customer. So Sat. FedEx would end up costing you around $16 total?
I think the chat should be moved to Tues. to allow shipments by the end of the week. I don't think it would be a big deal if there was plenty of advance notice....

There is a difference in USPS Priority and First Class - the priority is 2-3 days - first class can take 7-10 - and I'm not saying it will work out everytime - just that it's something to keep in mind - other than at Christmas time Priority Mail works pretty good at meeting their 2-3 day delivery times.

I'll probably just do that the next time I make a Wed. night order....

It may not work every time - but I think it's worth a shot - this was the first time I had something shipped that way and was very pleasantly surprised and sooooo happy I didn't have to wait till Monday for my tanks Doing the happy dance!

They are doing a great job getting these orders out as fast a possible. Great to hear USPS pulled through! I may also give them a shot on my next wed. night order.

Do that and report back - it will be interesting to see if I just got lucky or if this could be the "ticket"
