USPS missent package?

Postby rdwilliamson » Wed Jan 19, 2011 7:23 pm

I have a order from Volcano that I have been waiting on.

Two days ago the USPS tracking number says it was "missent", I know this is not Volcano's fault. At least I'm pretty sure it isn't.

What I want to know is what it means and when or if I'll get the package?

I'd contact USPS and see what they tell you...

I know it's not much help to you now, but this is why I'll usually spend the extra couple of dollars on FedEx.

I've never forgotten the day that USPS delivered a birthday card to my dad. It even arrived on his birthday. The problem was that it had been post-marked 10 years earlier. (Yes, this is a true story).

Yeah. I don't like using them, but sometimes it isn't worth the extra for Fed Ex. It might be from now on though.

Well last month they did that with my pay check. it said it was miss sent. I called them and they said it was placed on the wrong truck and was shipped to NY instead of MI. when it got there and was scaned the sorting system spat it out and they had to reship it to MI and all that fun jazz. I did get it but it was close to a week later than is should have been.

Hope fully it didn't go to far, and the rerouting wont take to long. Plus mine was during the holiday so they were going a bit slower then. It will get there and I hope you get it soon.

I had that happen to 3 packages over the holidays -

I am at a campground in a small State Park - which is adjacent to a VERY small city - the park gets their mail at a POBox - but they also have a street address -

I had 3 different packages coming from different places - 1 got here - the other two were returned to the shipper saying the address was bad - when one of the shippers tried to put the package back in the system it was even rejecting the PO Box - finally he put in the full zip+4 zipcode and the postal system was able to handle it - I talked to the local post office and they said they could have dealt with it if it had gotten this far - but someone along the chain kicked it back - there's a reason Fedex & UPS have been so successful.
