I guess everyone has different experiences, but my father wouldn't be alive if it weren't for his helmet. He had to lay it down at 60 mph due to a lady pulling out in front of him on a country road. Cracked his helmet and shredded his leathers, both of which saved his life.

Just like a car, the first thing you gotta do is find the blind spots and be aware of them. Using a small convex mirror on your main mirrors is also a big help, as it all but eliminates blind spots.

You seem like an awesome dude hippie, your posts always make me smile, just take care!

Wow thanks all y'all.. But I'm the most defensive rider out there.. I am more aware of what others drivers are doing than they are lol.. Needless to say...I have wiped out at high speeds..Tpost to the neck and head.. Barb wire neck arm and chest.. So I respect the road.. That one was all my fault anyway..but I still don't believe in a helmet.. But I will be always careful ...btw instill have that old cycle.. Rebuilt it.. It's 35 years old lol.. I have another I ride mostly these days:))Peace
